She really just insulted me like that? I couldn’t believe it. She flicked her hair over her shoulder, giving me a disdainful look, acting all proud of her little jab.
“As for your Luna status,” she continued, “I’m sure you’ll lose it soon.”
I forced myself to stay calm, locking eyes with Violet. “I don’t think I’m losing that position anytime. But I do think you’re losing your mind.”
Her dark eyes darkened further. “Do you have any idea how much Alpha Julian spoils me?”
I scoffed. “Who cares?”
“You care, because I’m having his puppy. While you’re turning into a desperate whore.” A nasty smile spread across her face.
I felt like I’d been punched in the gut. Even though the bond between me and Julian was fading, hearing about her being with him… it still stung. But I’d never show it in front of her.
“Really? That’s both pathetic and hilarious.”
She slammed her glass down on the counter, glaring at me. “What’s so funny?”
“You say Julian spoils you, but I’m his wife. I’m his mate.” I leaned lazily against the counter, putting on a bored expression. “And it’s hilarious that you’re sleeping with a married man, carrying his puppy, while you’re calling his wife a whore. How disgusting is that.”
I noticed some of the Omegas in the kitchen had started their shifts, and I could hear them whispering. As soon as I finished speaking, a few of them giggled.
“No, no,” Violet sneered. “You know what’s worse? You, as Luna of the Obsidian pack, alone in a room with another Alpha, making the pack look bad. You’re the real disgrace here.”
I raised an eyebrow. “More pathetic than a former Beta’s daughter who forgot her manners and disrespects higher–ranking pack members?”
Everyone stopped what they were doing to look at her. When my words echoed through the kitchen, sudden silence fell. In pack hierarchy, rank matters, and disrespecting higher–ranking members could mean severe punishment. She opened her mouth, then closed it.
I was about to leave when, out of nowhere, Violet spilled juice all over her own camisole and started crying like a soap opera character. “I know you hate me, Luna Blair,” she sobbed, fake tears streaming down her face as I stared at her in disbelief.
Then I saw Julian standing behind Violet–I hadn’t even seen him walk in.
“But the pregnancy isn’t my fault,” she sniffled. “If you hate me this much, I’ll just leave the pack and disappear.”
What the hell? This woman missed her calling as an actress.
“Come see me in the bedroom,” Julian said, his gaze finally on me.
Ah, so that was her game.

I sighed and followed Julian out of the kitchen, giving Violet one last look as she smirked at me.
As soon as we were in the bedroom, he snapped, “You shouldn’t treat Violet like that!”
I just ignored him and walked past, smirking. “I’m fine, thanks for asking.”

He gritted his teeth and grabbed my arm. “Blair, why can’t you just stop for a while? Violet’s pregnant, and she’s fragile. Why do you keep bullying her? Why did you throw juice on her? That’s not how a Luna-”
“Julian,” I interrupted, too tired to play game. “Are you really such a perfect Alpha? Ask anyone who was there–she spilled the juice herself. Do you think I’m that stupid?” I pulled my hand away.
He paused, clearly questioning whether I was telling the truth. But his next words made me want to puke. “Fine, even if that’s true, don’t argue with her. She’s pregnant now.”
I laughed coldly, pulling away from him. “I wouldn’t waste my time arguing with her. You should probably watch her 24/7, don’t let her out of your sight. After all, she’s your precious one.”
Julian frowned his brow. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
I looked Julian dead in the eyes and said, “Let’s get divorced.”
“What? Impossible!” His face went pale with shock. “I told you, we can fix this.”
“Julian.” I said calmly, knowing he wouldn’t accept divorce, but hoping maybe he’d compromise. “Then how about we spend some time apart to figure out our relationship?”
He ran his hands through his hair, pacing.
I laid out my case. “Alpha Dominic wants me to help with the Blue Bay Project in his pack. He’s
offering substantial funding.”
“I absolutely forbid you to go there!” he shouted; his face flushed with anger.
“In that case, you talk to Alpha Dominic. Because if you don’t help him, he’ll take it as an insult and attack our pack. Do you think you can handle an attack while Violet’s pregnant? If so, I won’t go.”
Julian’s face told me everything. He obviously didn’t have the guts to face Alpha Dominic in battle. The Thunderforge Pack was the most powerful pack globally.
I knew he had no choice but to let me go to Thunderforge Pack. “I’ll be back in a week.”
Julian stormed out with clenched fists.
But what happened next? That’s something I never saw coming.
