Chapter 2
Ryan sounded as usual, but I could sense a hint of probing.
I opened my mouth and tried to keep my voice as usual.
“Still on the way, it snowed heavily today, making the road difficult to pass.
Ryan seemed to have breathed a sigh of relief.
“The road was slippery in the snowy weather, so the driver was asked to drive slowly, with Bella’s safety being the top priority.”
“Next time, listen to me. I will still arrange a driver for you, so that I can feel more at ease when you
go out.”
My throat tightened.
Half a year ago, Ryan suddenly said he wanted to arrange a driver for me, but I didn’t agree.
At that moment, I finally understood why and naturally, I would not accept it anymore.
Ryan sighed helplessly when I rejected him.
“Alright, since Bella didn’t want another driver, I will continue to be Bella’s exclusive driver.”
Ryan was speaking sweet words, but he still managed to consider the jealous girl beside him.
He indulgently reached out his hand and pinched the soft flesh on the girl’s check.
“Bella, over here I still have… um, two more hours to go before I can finish.”
“I prepared some snacks in my office. You can have a bite first and I’ll take you to have something delicious.”
I hung up the phone and followed them out of the mall.
The snow was very heavy this year.
Just like when we were eighteen years old.
It was a rare heavy snowfall in the south.
He wished to bury half of his head in the snow, but he was afraid of freezing me, so he only grabbed
a small handful and put it on the end of my hair.
I still remember the moment when his gaze was cast upon me, my heart skipped a beat.
Bella.”
“We want to grow old together.”

And today, ten years later.
watched as he tightly wrapped the girl himself before allowing her to go out.
And he himself, with only a single piece of clothing left, even though he was shivering from the cold, faithfully followed behind the girl without any disappointment.
Snowflakes fell on his head.
It also slipped into my collar.
In the moment of melting, I shivered belatedly.
The sky was gradually getting dark.
I waited downstairs at the company as agreed.
Before today, he had never been late.
And this time, the “meeting” that he said could be finished in two hours, lasted a full two and a half hours.
After another quarter of an hour passed, the sky had completely darkened when Ryan finally called.
“Bella, the secretary said you didn’t come to the office. Where are you? I just finished the meeting and will come to pick you up right away.”
A few meters away, the familiar car suddenly flashed its headlights.
“Ryan, I saw you.”
They looked at each other, those deep, pitch–black eyes seemed soaked in ink.
When I stared at it, I couldn’t see the bottom.
“Bella, were you cold?”
He subconsciously tried to take off his coat, but found nothing. Instead, he placed my hand on his face and kept sneezing.
“Why weren’t you waiting for me in the office?”
“It’s cold outside, get in the car quickly.”
His concern and thoughtfulness remained as always.
There was not a trace of strangeness.
He opened the passenger door for me and I took a slow glance.
The contracts were scattered on the back seat.
Just like usual, he said he would come pick me up after the meeting, with visible haste and anxiety.
“Bella.”
He paused for a moment, with a slight smile on his face, and said, “You are no longer young.”
“The snow made it even colder, if you were sick, I wouldn’t have the heart to do anything else.”
“During today’s meeting, they all laughed at me for being henpecked. I said, ‘So what? I have a wife, and I’m proud!“”
He immediately wanted to hug me.
as if unaware, only focused on shaking off the accumulated snow from the soles of my shoes, and got into the car.
The moment I sat in the passenger seat, I furrowed my brow.
The seat was adjusted by someone..
Although I had already given birth to a child, there was still a feeling of being pressed on the stomach when I sat down.
“Did you switch to the passenger seat?”
Ryan had just sat in the driver’s seat when he heard the words, and his breath suddenly caught, “No, how is that possible, Bella? When have I ever let someone sit in the passenger seat?”
The next second, I reached out to adjust the seat, but my fingertips suddenly froze.
I touched it, a chest sticker that had fallen into the gap of the chair.
It was not mine.
Almost instantly, the bold face of a girl appeared before my eyes.
I took a deep breath and raised my hand, smashing the chest sticker onto Ryan’s face.
“Ryan, you know, the thing I can’t tolerate the most is infidelity.”
Ryan raised his hand unexpectedly and caught it. As soon as he saw what was in his hand, his face turned pale.
In an instant, his face was filled with extreme disgust and anger.
“Bella, it must have been another female employee’s dirty thoughts!”
Bella, don’t you remember? Two years ago at the company annual meeting, a female employee boldly handed me a room key, and I ruthlessly dealt with it.”

He did speak the truth.
Lonce saw him throw the room card in front of the dishonest female employee and immediately
fired her.
With that, he pulled my hand over with a face full of grievances.
“Bella, you couldn’t doubt my loyalty to you.”

“I know that Dad and Mom’s situation has deeply affected you, but please believe me, I will never be
like Dad.”
“In my whole life, I only loved you, Bella.”
Since I can remember, my dad constantly brought other women home.
My mother was in poor health and afraid that she wouldn’t be able to support me after divorcing him, so she kept enduring until the day I went to college.
Ryan knew my bottom line the best.
In the driver’s seat, Ryan gazed at me with a serious and solemn expression.
I stared at him fixedly and suddenly spoke.
“Ryan, you know what? I always felt that people who cheat on their partners deserve to be punished
severely.”
His pupils, almost imperceptibly, suddenly contracted.
The next second, he lowered his gaze, hiding the different colors in his eyes, and turned back with a smile, placing his hand on the steering wheel.
“Of course, Bella was right.”
Scammer.
I came to my senses and looked out of the car window.
“Let’s go home, I missed Jane.”
