Chapter 7
In a strange place, sharing a bed with a man I wasn’t very familiar with, I thought I wouldn’t be able
to fall asleep.
Who knew that sleeping could be unexpectedly fast.
The next day, when I woke up, I groggily rubbed against the “pillow” in my arms.
“???”
The touch sensation was off!
Returning to reason, I quietly let go of my hand and glanced up, only to see a pair of clear and profound eyes with a hint of amusement looking at me.
My cheeks instantly turned red, and I quickly sat up.
“Sorry, sorry, I had a bad sleeping posture.”
Hezekiah raised his hand and rubbed my head. “It’s okay, no need to apologize. We are husband and
wife.”
After finishing washing up.
Hezekiah glanced at me and said, “Let’s go and see our wedding room.
I didn’t think much and followed along.
To my surprise, the result was that our marital home was right next to my parents‘ house.
I was very happy, shuttling around the lobby on the first floor, wanting to see everything.
Hezekiah stood at the sofa, smiling at me..
I thought that without Vincent, I would be depressed for a long time, but the truth is that the fading affection slowly eroded away. After letting go, there was more melancholy and relief.
One week after marriage.
Vincent never contacted me once, and I was a little disappointed. How could I not be concerned, when I had taken care of him wholeheartedly as his childhood sweetheart?
If I had not married Hezekiah, this week would have been much more difficult for me.
I dare not imagine how the rumors outside would have run wild.
Vincent, I will not wait for you anymore in the future.
However, this disappointment did not affect my mood, and I smiled as Hezekiah walked towards
- me.
Thad someone to cherish now, and that was my life.
Hezekiah treated me well.
In my plan, he should neither reject nor like this marriage. There were no rumors about him having someone he liked, so I used this commitment.
But his kindness towards me gave me the illusion that he liked me..
So, I watched the man working in the study.
“Hezekiah.”
“Huh? What’s wrong?”
Did you agree to marry me to fulfill your promise, or…”
I originally wanted to ask him if he liked me or not, but it was difficult to bring it up, so I decided not to embarrass myself.
He chuckled self–deprecatingly and said, “It’s okay, you go ahead and busy yourself.”
Maybe he was just being nice to himself out of respect for his wife, so it’s better not to overthink it.
Turning around to leave, I was pulled into an embrace that exuded a chilling fragrance.
A sigh came from above.
“Reina, I thought I made it clear enough.”
I was stunned, unsure if my voice was trembling as I had imagined, “What do you mean?”
Hezekiah lowered his head and looked solemnly into my eyes.
“Reina, I liked you. I liked you a long time ago.”
