Chapter 8
Because my parents‘ house was close by, Hezekiah and I would often go to my mom’s place to mooch off her for meals.
My dad was highly skilled in playing the piano and he was also a great cook.
He often boasted in front of me, back then it was because he caught my mom’s attention by playing the piano, and then he captured my mom’s heart with his delicious cooking, which is how he won over that once unbeatable proud red rose.
I listened with envy, eyes sparkling.
Hezekiah, upon seeing this, leaned close to my ear and softly said, “You like it, I will make it for you
too.”
Watching the mocking gaze of the parents across from me.
My face turned red instantly, “Who said that? I didn’t like it!”
Since the day Hezekiah confessed, our relationship has become much closer.
It was also that day when I found out that he had fallen in love with me at first sight, he had me in his heart long before.
I have to say that I was secretly delighted and even showed off to my mom.
My mother even gave me a white eye.
“I had known for a long time that after you saved him, he often came to our house.”
“At first, your dad and I thought it was because of gratitude, but as he came more often, he couldn’t hide his feelings when he looked at you. He also realized that we had found out, so he came clean and said that you were still young, just starting college, and he wanted to wait until you were a bit older…”
“Your dad and I are happy to see it happen. He is from the local area, and there is a bit of an age, difference, but six years is still acceptable. If you marry him, you will be the one in charge at homep so you don’t have to worry about any mother–in–law issues or family relationships.”
However, their thoughtfulness came when you were in your sophomore year and said you were together with that kid from the Stratakos family, and your dad and I were both angry and embarrassed.
“When you announced your relationship, he came to our house once and said that since you had someone you liked, he wouldn’t tell you anymore. After that, he never visited again, but sent his Tegards.”
“You mentioned there was such a perfect precedent, that Vincent. Your dad and I couldn’t stand
him, except for his good
what does he have? Indecisive, easily influenced, complicated family background. If it weren’t for him being considerate towards you, we wouldn’t even let him in
the door.”
“The only advantage was the result…”
“How long has it been? I have advised you so many times, but you ignored me like a spell.”
“The wedding, pushed and pushed, was still for his childhood sweetheart.”
I originally came here to show off, but I didn’t expect there to be this thing. No wonder my parents didn’t say much when Hezekiah and I got married, and they looked so familiar.
But now, it has turned into a pair of criticism against me.
watched as my mother became more and more agitated and was about to lose her temper,
A sudden inspiration struck, “Hezekiah!”
My mother indeed stopped talking, and I quickly darted out of the room.
I looked around and saw that there was no one in the hall, so I came out. As expected, I saw Hezekiah and my dad drinking tea in the small pavilion in the yard, so I walked over.
I didn’t say anything and pulled him to leave. Hezekiah didn’t understand, but still stood up following my force. He turned back to look at my dad, and my dad waved his hand. Then he walked away with me.
I held onto his arm, and Hezekiah noticed that I seemed a bit down and asked softly, “Are you angry?”
Shaking my head, I didn’t know what to say. He raised his hand and embraced me, just at that moment, an angry voice came.
“What were you doing?”
