Sienna’s POV
12
Finally pulling himself together, Howard held me close, speaking each word slowly and firmly. “Lance, when did the wedding dress I customized for Sienna become yours?”
Lance, caught red–handed, turned bright red.
“Don’t think you can throw your weight around just because you’re our family’s money! Besides, if it’s bought with it, then this wedding dress belongs to me! And Sienna wearing it means she’s willing to marry me–not you!”
His twisted logic shattered everything I thought I knew.
Maia, hearing this, argued with Lance: “You’ve got some nerve, Lance! You say you want to marry into my family and take me as your wife, but now you can’t let go of this lapdog, Sienna? You better tell me–what’s your relationship with her?”
“She’s my girlfriend of five years!“/“I have nothing to do with him!”
Both Lance and I answered at the same time.
Maia, feeling betrayed, slapped Lance across the face.
“You jerk! If you’re already in a relationship with her, then what am I to you?”
She shot me a glare, crying as she stormed out
But Lance didn’t even glance her way. He kept staring at me, and it made me feel sick
“Sienna, I’ve done everything you wanted. I’ve made it public. If you’re still not satisfied, I can announce to the
world that I’m going to marry you!”
Right after that, he immediately posted it on his social media.
After begging for five years and never getting the public recognition, now that I was about to marry, he was willing to offer it as if it were a gift.
But I didn’t need it anymore!
That part of the past should stay buried.
Yet Lance was the one living in the past. He proudly showed me his phone, saying:
“Sienna, look. I won’t let you suffer anymore. Marry me, and you’ll be mine–legally, officially-
Before he could finish, his eyes landed on the two marriage licenses Howard was holding.
Lance froze as if someone had choked him. He couldn’t speak for a long time.
“How could this be? This can’t be happening!”
Not willing to give up, he posted another update, announcing his impending wedding to me.
But the private messages on his phone made him lose all composure.
Everyone was subtly asking him.
[Lance, are you okay?]
[Didn’t you know? Your uncle is about to marry Sienna.]
Yes, everyone knew Howard was about to marry me, but no one dared tell Lance.
I didn’t care to watch Lance cry, so I held Howard’s hand and left.
He took me to meet Grandpa Sigmund.
Grandpa had been bedridden for years, and he was deeply gratified that he would be able to see Howard marry
before he passed.
But when Lance barged in, demanding that Howard be kicked out of the Madron family for “stealing his wife,” he almost gave Grandpa a heart attack.
I heard that night, Lance was made to kneel outside Grandpa’s room all night.
Thankfully, Grandpa was fine.
Having lived a long life, Grandpa could easily see through Lance’s bitterness. He immediately canceled the arranged marriage with the Fowler family and apologized to them. Afterward, he decided to send Lance abroad.
Lance, however, refused to go and begged to stay, saying he wanted to see me get married before leaving. He also swore he wouldn’t cause any more trouble, the reason Grandpa reluctantly agreed to let him stay one more day.
The night before the wedding, Howard took me back to my house.
When we stepped inside, I realized what he meant by “renovating.”
Not only had he fixed the mess that Maia had caused, but he had also decorated the house beautifully for the
occasion.
This wedding was even more perfect than I had ever dreamed. I was filled with excitement for the life I was about
to start with Howard.
On the wedding day, Lance, as family, watched up close as Howard and I exchanged rings and shared a
passionate kiss, with tears streaming down his face.
