The judge had Harris and Russo test their DNA with Ethan, and as Russo claimed, his DNA report matched with Ethan while Harris’s not. Russo and I won Ethan’s joint custody but I remained in shock.
How could Russo be Ethan’s father? I never had cheated with someone while I was married to Harris. What was going on?!
I turned to Russo, and asked him to explain everything or else my head would burst out of anxiousness. At the same time, Harris walked up to us, accusing me of having an extra marital affair with Russo while being with him in the marriage. But, Russo shut him off by saying,
Russo’s eyes locked onto mine, and I could see the sincerity in them. “Darcy, I know this is a shock to you, but I assure you, I’m telling the truth. I am Ethan’s father.”
I felt like I was living in a dream, a dream that was quickly turning into a nightmare. “But how?” I asked, my voice shaking with anxiety. “I was married to Harris, and I never…I never cheated on him.”}
Russo’s expression turned somber, and he took a deep breath before speaking. “Darcy, do you remember the night you went to the Elite night club to celebrate Harris’s birthday along with his friends including Cindy?“}
Russo’s words transported me back to that fateful night at the Elite night club. I remembered how Harris had ignored me the whole evening, how Cindy had flirted shamelessly with him, and how I had felt like a mere accessory to his success.
Russo’s eyes seemed to bore into mine, as if searching for something. “You don’t remember what happened after you left the group, do you?” he asked, his voice low and gentle.}]
I shook my head, feeling a sense of trepidation. “No, I don’t. I remember feeling dizzy and disoriented, and then…nothing.“}]
Russo’s expression turned somber. “You were drugged, Darcy. Cindy slipped something into your drink, and you were taken to a private suit as a hooker.“}
My mind reeled as I tried to process Russo’s words. Drugged? Taken to a private suit? A hooker?!
Blood ran cold through my nerves while Russo continued, “Cindy wanted to destroy your relationship with Harris, probably accusing you of incest. But, as soon as she left, you walked out of the room and entered the next room that belonged to me. That’s why when Cindy came back with Harris, they didn’t find you and her plan flopped.“}
“Unfortunately, I was drunk that night and couldn’t resist your charm driven by the drugs and that’s how you conceived Ethan.” He added. But, Harris grabbed his collar, yelling, “I don’t believe it! You are lying. Cindy can’t betray me like this. Darcy… you and Darcy… You two planned this, didn’t you?”
Russo pushed Harris back, and brushed the dust off his collar before he said in a cold voice, “If you don’t believe me, just open your phone and watch the video. It’s already viraled.“}
Harris took off his phone. As Russo mentioned, Cindy’s video of mixing drugs in a glass and then offering it to me, then pushing me into a room, went viral and she was receiving hate from all over.
Harris’s face turned white as he watched the video on his phone. He looked like he had been punched in the gut. Cindy’s betrayal was evident, and he couldn’t deny it anymore.
After Harris left dejected, I turned to Russo as I asked, “If that was the case, why didn’t you tell me earlier that Ethan was your… son?“} He smiled softly before he replied, “It’s because I wasn’t aware of his existence all these years. It’s only when I saw you that day at the orphanage with him that I realized I had a son with you.”
“Why not tell me then?” I asked,
“Let me finish, my sweetheart,” he said, “It’s because I didn’t want you to feel I’m pursuing you because of him. I want to make you feel special, Darcy. I wanted to win your heart first before I start my family with you and Ethan.”
“Y–you want to pursue me?” I asked, my cheeks red while blushing.
He leaned closer to me as his lips brushed my earlobes, saying, “Let me tell you a secret. I wasn’t drunk that night. But, believe mel don’t really do nightstands with just anyone. You were special.”}]
I pushed him away from me, feeling embarrassed. He misinterpreted my reaction into my anger and immediately turned to me, his eyes softening. “I’m sorry, Darcy. I’m sorry for what happened that night. I’m sorry for not being honest with you sooner.”
I took a deep breath, trying to process everything. It was a lot to take in, but I knew I had to move forward. For Ethan’s sake, for my own sake.
“It’s not your fault, Russo,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper. “You didn’t know what was going to happen that night. And you’ve been taking care of us ever since.”}
Russo’s eyes locked onto mine, and I saw a glimmer of hope there. “I want to keep taking care of you, Darcy. I want to be there for you and Ethan. Will you let me?”
I felt a lump form in my throat as I nodded. “Yes, Russo. I’ll let you.”}
As we hugged, I knew that this was just the beginning of our journey together. We had a long way to go, but I was ready to face it with Russo by my side.}

It’s been five years since that fateful night. Russo and I are still together, and we’ve built a happy life with Ethan. Harris and Cindy are no longer in the picture, and we’re better off without them. After Cindy’s video went viral, her ex husband took her daughter away from her and Harris‘ reputation also got ruined as people understood how he abandoned his wife for a cunning woman.
