Chapter 13
Before I could respond, a deep voice cut through the air like a knife.
“We don’t need cars. She’s coming with me!” Alpha Dominic roared behind us, making Nash jump.
Wearing sunglasses, black dress pants, and a navy–blue shirt, he rolled up like a damn tornado, ready to wreck anything dumb enough to get in his way destroy everything in its path.
“Alpha Dominic!” Nash bowed quickly, his voice shaking. “But… without Julian’s permission..”
Alpha Dominic’s gaze swept over the ten sleek black cars lined up in the driveway, his expression stone–cold. “Your Alpha knows everything. Now, get her luggage. Or don’t you have enough Omegas to serve your Luna?”
Nash didn’t hesitate. “Right away!” He practically ran off, looking like he couldn’t get away fast enough.
I felt a deep flush of embarrassment wash over me. I couldn’t even meet Dominic. “Thanks,” I mumbled. I never thought Beta Nash would humiliate me in front of Alpha Dominic. It made me sick. I reminded myself that I’d soon be free from Julian. I just hoped the Council of Elders would give me back my pack.
Gamma Grant came running toward us, breathless. He bowed quickly, his words spilling out in a rush. “Luna Blair, I can drive you to Thunderforge Pack.”
I raised an eyebrow. “But didn’t your Alpha order everyone to the hospital?”
“Yes,” Grant nodded. “But I didn’t like that no one was available to drive you, so I came as soon as Ryan
could cover for me.”
A small smile tugged at my lips. I appreciated his effort. But then I heard a low growl behind me.
But why was Alpha Dominic growling? “It’s okay. I don’t want to risk-”
“Your Luna is coming with me,” Grant froze, looking between us in shock. “Yes, you heard right,” Dominic interrupted. “Now, get her luggage. We’re running late.”
Alpha Dominic spoke with such possessiveness that Grant shot me a surprised look but didn’t argue. Just as he turned to get my luggage, Beta Nash appeared in the doorway, lugging my two large suitcases. His expression was tight, his jaw clenched.
“Why so much luggage?” Alpha Dominic asked, rubbing his chin.
I smiled, “I like to be prepared when I travel.” Seeing Nash’s tight expression gave me a small taste of victory, but I knew the battle was far from over.
