Thank goddess for Alpha Dominic’s intervention. I had a week to stay at Thunderforge Pack. Julian was absolutely fuming when he left
“I want you back at the Obsidian pack as soon as possible!” he growled while opening the car door. “Violet was the one who wanted me to get you back, and she’s going to be very upset when she sees
I’m returning without you!”
I gritted my teeth. “Julian, why have Violet’s desires become more important than the pack’s well- being? You never told me about this deal, but I’m sure Violet knows about it. If she sent you here, wasn’t she aware of what would happen if you broke the agreement?”
Julian wasn’t particularly skilled with business matters. He focused mainly on training warriors and protecting the pack from rogues, while I handled most business dealings, with Nash sometimes helping me. So I was surprised when Alpha Dominic told me about their deal to exchange expertise for
the Blue Bay Project.
“I don’t care!” he snarled. “I just want Violet happy, and if getting you back to the pack makes her happy, then that’s what I’ll do. Besides, I don’t like you being here alone with Alpha Dominic. You’re the Luna of Obsidian pack – that’s where you belong. I’m sending Grant and Lowell to stay with you.”
I shook my head. “Then what about what you’re doing with Violet? Everything revolves around her now. You’ve changed so much, Julian.” His hypocrisy was beyond belief, but what else could I expect from al man so wrapped up in his mistress? “Don’t I matter at all? You didn’t even tell me about the deal, yet here you are trying to drag me back on her orders.” Tears welled up in my eyes, and I clenched my fists to hold them back. I didn’t want to appear weak, but his indifference still cut deep. Our bond remained, causing havoc when he showed such coldness toward my feelings.
He pinched the bridge of his nose. “I’m not getting into this again, Blair. Just come back when you’re done–you have one week.” Then his eyes darkened menacingly. “After that, I’m dragging you out of here. I want Violet to have a safe pregnancy, and I won’t let your stupidity jeopardize that! Push me, and you’ll end up in the dungeons, never seeing daylight again!”
My mouth fell open as an icy chill ran down my spine. Julian got in the car and slammed the door shut. As the driver sped away, I stood rooted in place, staring after the car, wondering why my cheeks. were wet. A crushing loneliness hit me as I realized that if I couldn’t get what I needed within a week, I’d be trapped in eternal darkness.
Minutes later, a warm arm wrapped around my shoulders. Startled, I looked up to find Alpha Dominic watching me with gentle eyes. Or was it pity?
“How about we get back to where we left off?” he said softly, wiping my tears.
I had this strange urge to bury my face in his chest and cry, but I stopped myself. Lately, whenever he was around, I felt these confusing emotions stirring inside me. I nodded. “Yeah!” I’d made my decision during our walk back.
When we reached our room, he asked, “Would you like some coffee?”
“No,” I said hoarsely, heading to the desk. I pulled out the contract and brought it to him. His eyes

widened when he saw me with it. “Alpha Dominic,” I said as I grabbed a pen. The sound of turning. pages filled the air as I flipped through them impatiently. Finding the last page, I quickly signed my name, letting out a relieved sigh.
“Blair?” he asked, clearly confused.
For some reason, handing him the contract felt liberating. “It was time,” I said.
“I don’t want you to have regrets later, Blair,” he said, taking the papers. “This seems like an impulsive decision, so I should wait before signing.”
I shook my head. “No, please sign it now and give me a copy.”
He looked surprised but pleased, signing immediately. “I’ll get you a copy as soon as possible.”
We discussed my situation until afternoon. Later, I said, “Thank you for spending so much time with me on this. You’ve basically put aside your Alpha duties to help me.”
He chuckled. “Not at all. This was important.”
I couldn’t help smiling. It was strange how Alpha Dominic, who wasn’t my mate, showed me such respect while Julian, my supposed mate, ignored me for another woman.
As he gathered the papers, he said, “Aria will be here tomorrow.”
“Oh, great!”
“But we need to submit these to the Head Council the day after.” He gave me a worried look that instantly made me nervous. “There’s no guarantee they’ll accept your petition.”
I took a shaky breath, knowing the situation. The Head Council rarely approved requests like this. They were traditional Elders who valued pack customs and Alpha authority. Why would they accept my plea to reject my mate and reclaim my pack? “I know,” I whispered. “But I have to try.”
“Absolutely!” Alpha Dominic replied. He changed the subject. “Are you free tonight?”
I frowned, wondering where this was going. “Yes.”
“I’d like to show you around the pack. Would you come?”
He looked so hopeful that it caught me off guard. “Sure, I’d love to.”
“Great!” he grinned. “I’ll pick you up at seven.”
After he left, I felt an inexplicable contentment replace the heaviness I’d felt when Julian left.
That evening, I found myself getting ready to go with him. Why did this feel like a date? I laughed as I adjusted my stole around my neck. Then my eyes widened in shock as they landed on my mark.
