Chapter 11
As the dusk deepened, a soft, gentle Canon flowed from her hands.
On the neighboring balcony, Edgar reclined in a rocking chair, staring out at the vasi, peaceful lake. His sharp brows were drawn together in a deep
Edmund’s dying words echoed in his mind. “Find the descendants of the Divine Doctor in Sampton City, and your illness will be saved”
But now, the descendants of the Divine Doctor were nowhere to be found. He wondered, Would I meet the same late as my father?
Would I
A storm of frustration and unease brewed inside him. Despite his efforts trying to control it, his anger and helplessness began to break through again.
Rolly, sensing the tension, lay at his feet, whining softly in concern
Edgar picked up his phone, about to call Jerry, but then, the sound of a soft plano melody floated over. It was like a small stream winding through a mountain valley–gentle, soothing, and persistent.
The music carried an almost tangible vitality, as though it were an invisible hand brushing across his bean, calming him, fimle by little.
He lowered the phone and reached out for Bolly. The golden retriever immediately understood, jumping into his arms.
Without him realizing it, the tightness in his body started to ease. His deep, galaxy–like eyes fostered closed, and soon, he drifted into a quiet sleep.
Back on the other balcony. Talia exhaled, feeling the tension and frustration she’d been holding onto for so long begin to melt away with the music.
“My mother always said music could heal, she murmured, “and it looks like she was right
She stood up and moved to the open part of the balcony, letting herself soak in the breathtaking sunset.
She heard a soft sound and turned her head. To her surprise, a golden retriever was sitting on the balcony, wagging its ad and pawing at the air. trying to get her attention
The dog was absolutely beautiful–sleek, shiny fur, and a Exce that looked like it belonged in a dog modeling agency. His big, innocent eyes gazed up at her, and before she knew it, her heart melted
“Hey there, what’s your name?” she said, leaning forward to pet the dog through the half–yard gap between the balconies
“Why’s your owner leaving you all alone?” she asked, rubbing his head gently.
Suddenly, the dog began wagging his tail frantically, then started barking and looking at the interior of the vill
“What’s wrong? Are you hungry?” Talia a asked, confused by the dog’s behavior.
But the dog’s panic only grew. He kept looking back at the house and whining, as if asking for help.
–
Talia leaned further over the balcony to peer inside. All she could see were a pair of long legs draped over a lounge chair.
“Hello?” she called, but there was no response. She thought. Is the dog trying to tell me something Is its owner in troubler
The dog’s whining grew more desperate, but still, no one stirred inside.
She thought, “That is it. Forget hesitation–someone might need help. Without another thought, Talia gritted her teeth and decided to act
The two balconies were only separated by half a yard. She made up her mind, took a deep breath, and jumped across.
This time, she finally saw the person inside. The man had thick, well–defined brows that were drawn tightly together in pain. His neck muscles were straining, as though he was caught in the grip of a painful dream.
“Edgart” she exclaimed, rushing toward him.
Without wasting a second, she placed her fingers on his pulse, her brow furrowing as she felt it. His pulse was erratic, his energy still in turmoil, though it was a bit better than the day before
Quickly, she began performing acupuncture, carefully inserting the needles one by one. After a while, she could feel the tension in his body start to ease, and his furrowed brow slowly began to relax.
“Finally.” “Talia whispered, breathing a sigh of relief. Her hands were shaking with exhaustion, but she continued to remove the needles.
But just then, Rolly, thinking she was leaving, leapt up and jumped onto her back, wagging his tail energetically.

next moment she found herself tumbling forward into Edgar’s arms. As she tried to push herself up, her hand accidentally landed on his firm chest.
The solid muscle beneath her palm made her pause for a moment, completely caught off guard. She quickly pulled her hand away, only to then accidentally press it onto his muscular arm. The thin fabric of his loungewear molded to the shape of his muscles.
“Had enough?” A deep, irritated voice suddenly cut through the air.
Talia’s eyes flew up, meeting Edgar’s intense gaze. In that instant, it felt as if the temperature around them had dropped to freezing point.
Her eyelashes fluttered.
