Chapter 25
“I’m starting to wonder if you’re the dog I raised,” Talia muttered, rubbing the golden retriever’s head as she struggled to carry him downstairs. When she looked up, she saw Edgar sprawled on the sofa, wiping blood from his nose with a tissue.
“What happened?” she asked.
“Your coffee tasted a bit… off,”
1” he said lightly.
Talia followed his gaze to the cup on the table and turned red in embarrassment. “You drank my medicinal brew” she said, realizing what had happened.
Quickly sening Rolly down, she reached for his wrist.
In that instant, Edgar narrowed his eyes sharply and gave her a quick, cautious look. But when he felt the coolness of her fingertips, he relaxed.
“Take a deep breath. Il do some acupuncture.”
“Okay.” Edgar stayed still, his gaze fixed on her calm face,
She was focused, a strand of hair fluttering gently in the breeze. Her loose cotton–linen nightgown swirled around her like something from a dream. A faint orchid fragrance surrounded him, making his hear feel as though it had been brushed by a feather.
Edgar’s pupils flickered imperceptibly–a feeling he had never experienced before
“What?” Talia raised an eyebrow as she pulled the needle out, confused. “It stopped the bleeding just now, so why is in bleeding again?”
*Maybe I’m just tired,” he said, avoiding her gaze.
“Well, you should get some rest. Talia replied, looking down at the silver needle in her hand, embarrassed.
She thought, Have my skills declined?” She couldn’t stop thinking about it until Edgar left with Rolly, I am definitely practicing more today!
As soon as he got home. Jerry’s call came through. “Edgar, how’s your health these days?
Edgar walked into the kitchen and downed a glass of cold water, his brow furrowing. “Not great. It seems… there’s another symptom.” He thought, Unexplained nosebleeds…
“I’ll be back from Wrand City soon. I hear you’ve been seeing doctors in Sampion City?”
Edgar could hear the underlying meaning in Jerry’s words and quickly clarified, “Don’t misunderstand. I’m just fulfilling my grandfather’s wish.”
“If there are truly famous doctors in Sampton City. I would’ve known already. You should return to Zenith City. Your health won’t hold up. I’ll send you some new medicine. You need to take care of yourself until I get back”
“Okay, I’ll head back soon”
After hanging up with Jerry, Eden walked in holding an invitation. “Mr. Binder, Stephen Dorsey, the president of Purar, heard you’re in Sampton Ciry and has invited you to the fashion show. Should I confirm your attendance!”
Edgar frowned slightly. He was never fond of such extravagant events.
Meanwhile, next door, Talia had been practicing acupuncture on a small bronze statue for hours and was finally ready to take a break
Her phone kept buzzing with messages. One notification after another told her that all her credit cards and supplementary cards had been frozen.
In her past life, as a traditional medicine assistant, her income had been meager, and she had to rely on cards under Edric’s name. Forced to depend on him, she had become a parasitic flower.
A WhatsApp message popped up from Perry, telling her that the Russell family had canceled the planned multimillion–dollar investment and urging her to beg Edric.
She ignored it, but just as she was about to put the phone down, another message from Edric appeared. [Move back to the mansion. My patience is running out.]
Tulia smirked, her lips curling in mockery. Edric still didn’t take their divorce agreement seriously, always using threats to try to force her into submission. She thought, “You started this warf
“Since a peaceful divorce isn’t going to work, then I’ll stop being polite.” She deleted the message without hesitation.
As night fell, the Purar fashion show venue glittered with opulence, bright as day.

Chapter 25
Celebrities filled the space, and reporters crowded along the red carpet, their cameras flashing like stars.
Everyone was dressed to the nines, slowing their steps, each person carefully positioning themselves to catch the spotlight.
Among them, a woman in a black velvet fishtail dress moved swiftly through the crowd like a vengeful black swan.
Her slender, fair neck was adorned with only a delicate pearl necklace–perfectly understated.
With a single glance, her pure, stunning face captured every camera’s attention.
“Who is she? I’ve never seen her before”
“She looks so familiar… Could she be… the Russell family’s fierce wife?
“Her? No way!”
“She’s not the Russell family’s wife. She’s Talia

Alina shot a cold glance at the surrounding reporters and turned to hold Talia’s hand affectionately. “Come on, come dying to meet you since they heard you were coming!”
“Is it really that exaggerated?” Talia smiled lightly, but Alina was serious.
“Everyone says I’m a ren
a genius, but they’ve never seen a true genius. This time, the jewelry design world has no regrets”
They had barely entered when a luxurious Bentley pulled up at the beginning of the red carpet, and Nina and Edric arrived.
