“Don’t worry, Guthrie Corp won’t last much longer. Without the Moores‘ support, they’ll go bankrupt soon enough.”
“And I’ve successfully broken them up using our child,” Anna said, her voice brimming with triumphant excitement.
What?!
I had to cover my mouth to keep from gasping out loud.
Little Sky wasn’t Ethan’s child after all.
How could Ethan not have done a paternity test?

He was too confident, believing Anna wouldn’t dare sleep with other men after being with him.
Plus, little Sky looked so much like Ethan.
The man smirked. “Very good. My dear brother should thank me for this generous gift.”
My mind reeled again.
So he was Ethan’s brother?
.
I returned to our private room. My friend was already drunk out of her mind.
After sending her home, I started digging into the man’s background.
A few days later, the private investigator sent me his findings.
“His name is Zack Lee. He uses his mother’s surname. His biological father is Gregory Guthrie…”
The more I read, the more shocking it became.
So Zack Lee really was Ethan’s half–brother.
Zack’s mother had been the heiress of Lee Enterprises.
Thirty years ago, she married Gregory Guthrie.
But on their wedding day, her parents died in a car accident on the way to the ceremony.
Two years later, she gave birth to Zack.
But shortly after the birth, she passed away as well.
That same year, Gregory Guthrie brought home his first love the current Mrs. Guthrie.
The Guthrie family changed their surname then.
Zack went missing at the age of four.
Reading through all this information sent chills down my spine.
I never imagined the Guthrie empire was built on such a dark foundation.
So Zack had returned for revenge.
I thought I would never have a chance to meet Zack in person.
But that day, I ran into him at my company.
Zack still had that dissolute air about him. Even in a suit and tie, he exuded a sense of danger.
I sympathized with what he had gone through.
But to be honest, I didn’t like people like him.
He was too dark, as if no amount of sunlight could penetrate his world.
Zack smiled at me. “Miss Moore, this isn’t our first meeting.”
My eyes widened in shock.

He knew.
Zack continued, “But I don’t mind that you were spying on us,”
I stared at him in surprise.
I wanted to figure out what he was thinking.
Wasn’t he afraid I would expose him?
Zack seemed to read my mind.
“We’re in the same boat, aren’t we?” he said. “You hate Ethan, and so do I.”
I shook my head with a wry smile. “No, we’re not the same.”
“I don’t hate him. I just happened to date a scumbag. It’s no big deal.”
I had come to terms with it over the past few days.
I truly didn’t hate Ethan anymore.
Now that I no longer loved him, even hating him felt like too much effort.
I was just upset that my sincere feelings had been trampled on.
After causing that scene at the wedding and snatching the Guthries‘ business deal, I felt much better.
But Zack’s grudge against the Guthries ran deep as the sea. We were nothing alike.
Zack seemed surprised by my response. “Even though Ethan is still using his status as your fiancé to drum up business? Even though Ethan
actually almost killed you?”
“What do you mean?” I frowned.
Ethan had saved my life before.
When we were children, I had fallen into a lake. Ethan rescued me.
After that, my family was extremely grateful to him.
That’s why even when my dad found out about the Guthries‘ major problems, he was still willing to work with them.
It was all because of that life–saving grace from childhood.
Plus, I had been insisting on marrying Ethan back then. So my dad jumped on the sinking Guthrie ship without hesitation.
