Chapter 22
Chapter 22
Lyra Hades
Tim coming over to pick you up in two hours.
1 scoffed when I read through Enzo’s text. I had no idea what the occasion was today, but Enzo had sent a stylist with a dress over to the house to get me ready for an event I didn’t know what it was about. If I wasn’t curious to find out what was happening, I wouldn’t have cooperated.
“I’m done, my lady” I opened my eyes once the stylist was done, and my jaw dropped to the ground when I saw my reflection in the mirror. I didn’t remember the last time I was this pretty. Probably when I was still in my father’s pack.
“Thank you.” I said to her before she left, and once I was alone in the room, I went ahead to get dressed. Enzo hud : ht a beautiful purple ball gown to me earlier along with a purple purse to compliment the dress, and a pair of fat half–shoes to complete the dress
A stile spread across my lips while standing in front of the mirror, staring at my reflection in the mirror. My baby bump was barely showing in the dress, and I couldn’t deny the fact that I loved it.
My attention was drawn to the knock on the door, and I ushered in the person as I had presumed it was
Claudia
“How do I look. Clau. my voice trailed off when Enzo walked inside instead, graced in a button down shirt which had the sleeves folded up to his elbow lines, and a pair of black trousers. His hair was styled beautifully, and I hated to admit that he looked super hot in the dress.
“You look gorgeous.” I almost blushed when he complimented me, but again, I reminded myself that he was nothing but a pathetic cheater, so I just rolled my eyes, numing my face away,
“Where are we going, Enzo?” I questioned, and just like before, he refused to tell me
“I told you that it’s a surprise. It won’t be a surprise anymore if I tell you now.” His lips curled up in a smile, and I scoffed. Who was smiling with
him!
He looked around the room, and when his eyes fell on the shoes which were just beside the bed, he went to pick them.
“Let me help you wear them.” He came to squat in front of me with one knee on the ground as he leaned forward to help me wear my shoes. I let him do it since I couldn’t do it myself, and when he was done, he led me out of the house.
Enzo opened the car door for me when we got to the parking lot, and I hopped inside the car. He went to hop in the driver’s seat, and the drive to God knows where began.
Enzo only stopped driving about thirty minutes later after he drove into an unfamiliar restaurant where he pulled over at the parking lot and helped me out of the car. It was my first time here, and from the exterior decoration and the surroundings. I was sure that this place would be for wealthy people only.
Lunar Five–star restaurant‘ The name was boldly inscribed on a billboard which was right above the wall at the entrance door.
My stomach grumbled hungrily and my mouth salivated the moment we walked inside as the sudden urge to eat something came hitting at me.
Amid my hunger, I was
- r. I was quick to
o notice that the restaurant was weirdly quiet as there was no single customer around. All the tables were empty except for the one I spotted at the far end of the restaurant which had a bouquet of flowers on it. The smell of the flower was so inviting that I found myself going toward it even before Enzo could say anything. I carefully picked up the flowers and sniffled them, closing my eyes and enjoying the sweet scent, Gosh! I want some.
“Sit, Lyra” My attention was drawn to Enzo who had the chair pulled out for me, and I realised that we were still supposed to sit here. Basically, the flower was for him
by with Enzo.
After 1 sat, Enzo sat across from me and called the waiter’s attention who came to serve us varieties of food. As much as I wasn’t happy rejecting his food was the last thing I’d do. Not when they looked so delicious.
I barely wasted time before I began eating like it was the only thing that mattered to me. Honestly, it was the only thing that mattered at that
moment.
Halfway i
y into the food, Enzo dropped a small box in front of me on the table as he said. “Happy birthday to you, wife”
1 pause, freezing on the spot as my jaw dropped to the ground. I raised my eyebrows, banting my eyelashes to be sure I heard him correctly. Is it really my birthday?
He had the brightest smile on his face when I looked at him. “I was a terrible husband to you, but even at that, I’ve always remembered every single

is the same customized special day of your life.” He said, opening the box. I was even more stunned when I saw the necklace in the box. It was necklace that I’ve been getting anonymously on my birthdays for the past few years and I could never tell who always sent them. But it was clear now. Enzo was the one who has been sending those necklaces every si
year.
I
A part of my heart softened, a smile spreading across my lips as I carefully picked the necklace and stared at it. I didn’t even remember that it was my birthday today
“Lyra…” he reached for my hand, and surprisingly, I didn’t feel repulsive nor the urge to push him off as I just allowed him to hold my hand and gaze into my eyes
“I know it’s hard, but all I’m asking is to be allowed into our child’s life. I promise to be a good father to our baby, and a perfect husband to you. I won’t ever hurt you again, I promise.” He looked sincere as he gazed into my eyes, and 1 bit my lip hard.
The thought of Amber flashed through my mind, and I yanked his hand off. As much as I wanted to believe that there was really nothing between them then, I kept asking myself what if there really was?
“Thank you for the necklace and food. I need to go home.” I stood up, picking up the box. I was about to leave when he held my hand, bringing me To an abrupt halt.
“What do I have to do to make you believe me that I never really cheated on you! Just tell me what I should do, and I promise to do it.” His voice was filled with sadness as he spoke, causing me to scoff. Even I didn’t know what he could do to make me believe him….
