Chapter 10
Chapter 10
“No wonder. You called yourself a stand–in.”
“Mia, maybe deep down, I can’t let go of Lillian… but right now, I love you.”
Ryan knelt before me.
“Mia, I love you. Please, can you hold me again?”
I ignored Ryan’s words, treating them like empty air.
At this point, there was no use in saying anything.
Ryan glared at Olivia with pure hatred.
“How could you be so heartless? She was your own sister! I’m going to the cops and report you!”
Olivia, unfazed, smirked.
“Go ahead. Do you have any proof?”
Hypnosis wasn’t considered valid evidence, or I would have had her arrested already.
Ryan’s anger was palpable as he stormed to Olivia’s side.
Each word dripped with fury, “I’m not marrying you.”
“I’ll send you to a disabled center and leave you trapped there for the rest of your life.”
At that moment, Olivia was terrified.
“No! You can’t do this to me, Ryan!”
“Before my sister died, you promised her you’d take care of me.”
“You can’t break that promise! Ryan, you can’t go back on your word!”
“Olivia!” Ryan shouted in rage, silencing her.
He grabbed her by the throat.
“You don’t get to mention your sister. You’ll never be anything like her!”

Chapter 10
Olivia struggled to breathe, her tongue hanging out.
I watched from the side, indifferent.
Let her die.
It’d save everyone the trouble of dealing with her.
But maybe the bad guys really do live forever, because the police came rushing in at the sound of commotion.
They pulled Ryan off Olivia.
Olivia, with a maniacal grin, laughed.
“Lillian! You were always better than me at everything.”
“Everyone loved you, not me. Beauty’s a curse, though, you died too young!”
“If only you could see Ryan lose his temper like this! Hahaha!”
Ryan, held back by the officers, thrashed around as though he wanted to tear Olivia apart.
Sadly, he never got close to her.
I walked out of the room.
I saw Daniel standing there with flowers in his hand.
“How long have you been waiting?” I asked.
He smiled, “Not long.”
Then he handed me the flowers.
They were my favorite, the ice princess lilies.
Three years ago, when I was discharged after my heart transplant, Daniel gave me the exact same bouquet.
I habitually brought the flowers to my nose for a quick sniff.
I went to Paris with Daniel.
We stayed there for a while.

Chapter 10
That’s when an unexpected visitor showed up.
Ryan, looking completely drained, appeared in front of me.
“Mia, I finally found you. Please come back with me.”
I pointed to the river in front of the café.
“If you stay in there for ten hours, maybe I’ll think about it.”
Without a word, Ryan jumped straight in.
More and more people gathered around, and even the police got involved.
But Ryan wouldn’t come out, not even when his lips turned blue from the cold.
We sat down for a meal, just watching him act like a circus clown.
While he was watching, I leaned over and kissed Daniel.
Then, I turned to the river.
“You stay in there. I’m going to get a room.”
Ryan’s veins bulged as he tried to climb out.
I stopped him, saying, “Not even ten hours?”
“Then I’m not giving you another chance.”
I shoved him back into the water.
I grabbed Daniel’s hand, and we walked away until we were out of Ryan’s sight.
Then, I let go.
Daniel looked at me seriously.
“Are you really going to get a room?”
I gave him a playful nudge.
“Of course not, we’re off to Australia for the next gig!”
Daniel looked a bit put out.
