The next morning
I took the divorce papers and went to Damian’s room, I threw the door open and saw them both naked on the bed, Damian jumped out of the bed and began to put himself together, Ana remained on the bed pretending not to see me. As he tried to put on his shirt I threw the divorce papers at him, he took it in surprise and looked down at it. When he read the big words, he looked up at me in surprise.
“What is this, Clara?” Damian asked in disbelief. I rolled my eyes; why was he looking at me like I was the bad guy? I

“But why?” He asked, and I looked at him like he was the biggest idiot I had ever
seen.
“Look at me. Damian. Was this how you met me? You cut me open just to look for a stupid fake diamond, and what are you doing with your just a childhood friend‘ on the bed, naked, do you think I am stupid?” I yelled at him.
“yes, Damian had always told me that Ana was just a childhood friend ever since he brought her into this house.
Damian was taken aback; he probably wouldn’t guess that the woman who followed him around all those years would be the same woman who would yell at him and demand a divorce.

“Sign it as soon as you can so we can both get rid of each other; I have already signed mine,” I said and walked out. I walked to

the cupboard and began taking out my clothes, I left behind the ones he bought
for me.
I took out a big bag and began stuffing my clothes and shoes inside.
“Clara waits; this is insane, why aren’t you taking the things I got for you” Damian snapped as he looked at the things I packed, I wanted to laugh.

“what about the alimony, you aren’t taking anything,” he asked in surprise.
I said nothing; I have made up my mind to leave him, and that is what I will do, I wanted nothing from him.
“Clara, hold on a bit,” Damian said.

glaring at me; I raised a brow at her and turned back to my packing.
I stuffed the last cloth inside and stood to my feet.
“Sign it,” I reminded Damian before dragging my bag away. I expected him to sign it as soon as possible, but to my surprise, he chased after me.
“Clara, wait, this is madness,” he shouted. But I ignored him. Ana followed closely behind us.
“Brother Damian, why is she leaving so easily, do you think she has someone else in mind,” Ana said the last part as if she was thinking out loud.
Damian paused.
His face contorted into anger; I walked quickly knowing that it wouldn’t be good if I delayed.

He grabbed my arm and pulled me back just as I was about to cross the door.
“Is it true, Clara? Are you cheating on me, who is the guy huh? What were you doing away from home for seven days” He asked

I laughed, so he knew that I was gone for seven days, yet he never bothered to check
up on me.
“So what? What is it to you? You were here, rolling around the sheets with Ana. You have been rolling around with her for the past few months, so you think I never noticed“. I shouted to his face.
Damian froze; he turned to Ana. She raised her hand defensively.
“I swear I didn’t tell her,” She said before he could say anything, Damian frowned and was about to say something,

but I cut him off.
“If you can do that, why can’t I, Damian?” I asked and tried to free my hand from his grip, but he held it tighter.
“So, you were cheating on me. Who is he?” he asked.
“Go to hell,” I snapped. Damian growled and pulled me back into the house and up the stairs. He pushed me into the guest. room and locked the door.
“Damian, Damian” I screamed his name. and banged on the door, but it was never opened.
“Stay there and reflect on your actions,” he said before walking away from the door. I slid to the floor and held my hair.
I stayed in that room for two days, with no food; I lived off the water from the
bathroom sink. I heard nothing from
Damian.

and Ana walked in.
“Guess who is locked in here like a dog, you and the guess who just got engaged to your husband,” she said and raised her hand to show me a huge diamond ring on her finger.
“That s right, me, Damian proposed to me,” she said with a smile.
“And guess what else? I am pregnant, she said.
I widened my eyes; her words brought me back to reality. Damian was never mine. Throughout our marriage years, I asked Damian if we could have kids, and Damian kicked against it.
He said kids would deform my shape.
I looked up at Ana; she was right; I was following around a man who treated me like a dog.
I shrugged and looked away.

“I will give you a house and a car as alimony; take it and leave,” he said after

I stopped and turned around; he handed me two other documents.
Ana widened her eyes.
“Honey, isn’t that too much? she asked him, but he said nothing. Damian had his eyes fixed on my face. I took the deeds and car key; before turning around and grabbing my luggage from beside the door, I walked out and never looked back.
