Chapter 40
Although he complained about Zabelle resting her head on his shoulder, he didn’t make any attempt to move until they got
back to his mansion.
Zabelle still didn’t wake up even when the car stopped, and he didn’t want to wake her up, but they had to get into the mansion, and so he tapped her gently.
This worked as she opened her eyes and moved to resting her head on the headrest of the chair.
Without wasting time. Antonio got out of the car, but he noticed that Zabelle didn’t. Going over to her side, he opened the door and found her asleep once again.
He extended his hand to tap her once again, but he stopped halfway. She had been through a lot in the course of six hours, and maybe he could be nice just this once.
With that thought in mind, he reached out and carried her in harms. Zabelle was oblivious to this fact, as she didn’t even
stir.
Not saying anything to his father, Antonio turned and made his way into the mansion. Why did she feel warm? He asked himself as he felt her temperature.
She had better not be having a fever, he frowned as he started to make his way up to the stairs. When he got to her room, he gently placed her on the bed.
Zabelle still didn’t stir, and this made Antonio squint his eyes at her. Even though she wasn’t a light sleeper, there was no way she could sleep so deeply to the point of not knowing what was happening
Just as he was deciding on what to do, his eyes fell I on her bruised wrist and this distracted him as he turned to grab a first aid kit so he could apply some ointment on her hand
Zabelle was making him do things he had never considered doing for anybody, and it was annoying, but what was more annoying was the fact that he couldn’t just ignore it.
Zabelle finally stirred when he applied the ointment to her wrist and she hissed in pain, but she didn’t open her eyes. That was good enough for him, he thought to himself, after which he applied it on the second wrist.
As soon as he was done, he pulled the sheets over her and turned off the lights. Taking one last look at her, he exited the
room
“Sir.” Martha came to him as soon as he closed the door to Zabelle’s room.
“What is it?” He inquired.
“Your brother is waiting for you in your room,” she informed him, and he nodded, after which he made his way there.
When he got into the room, he found Alejandro staring at his tablet, and coming from it were the streams of a woman.
“How is she? Was she hurt Alejandro inquired without taking his eyes off his tables
“She’s sleeping and no she wasn’t. Apart from the bruising on her wrist due to the ropes she was tied with, there were no other Injuries, Antonio responded as he walked up to Alejandra and yanked the tablet out of his hands.
When he looked at the screen, he found a tied–up Vanessa screaming for someone to rescue her, and his eyes shone with satisfaction.
Gabriel had made a big mistake by messing with him and kidnapping Zabelle even after he warned him not to do anything stupid.

However, since the footwanted to play, it was only befitting that Cabriel was given a taste of his own medicine, which was why he had asked Alejandro to kidnap Vanessa.
The woman was lucky that no harm had been done to Zabelle asshe would have suffered the same thing, only worse.
“Have they noticed she’s gone?” Antonio inquired.
“Last I checked, no they hadn’t,” Alejandro responded. “You never told Zabelle that Jeremy was behind the stabbing incident, did you?” He then squinted his eyes at Antonio as he got up from the sofa.
“It’s not any of my business. If she can’t figure it out herself, then that’s on her, Antonio shrugged nonchalantly.
Telling or not telling her wouldn’t make a difference to his plan, and so he decided not to bother with it.
If she asked him, however, he would tell her who was behind it, and if not, then he didn’t know anything.
The tablet in his hand vibrated, and when he looked down at it, he saw that Alejandro had received a text from an unknown number.
“Fuck you, you asshole,‘ was what the text read. The tablet vibrated again, but before he could read the text, Alejandro snatched the tablet away from him
“What are you up to, and whose heart did you break this time?” Antonio couldn’t help but ask suspiciously.
His brother had too many relationships going on, and so he never bothered to keep track of them.
That’s none of your business,” Alejandro told Antonio as he began to make his way out of the room. “Have a good night those were his last words to him before leaving the room.
Antonio could only shake his head. He then brought out his phone to give some last–minute instructions, after which he proceeded to take a shower so he could go to bed.
“Gabriel, Vanessa hasn’t been
sen answering her phone,” Lily told her husband as he walked into the room.
After she and her daughter had left the wedding store, they had gone their separate ways, but she had been trying to reach her daughter for more than two hours, and it was to no avail.
“What?! Isn’t she home?” Gabriel frowned. He had ordered for one of his daughters to disappear and not the other as well.
“No, she isn’t. I already called her house, and they said she hadn’t arrived home. It’s unusual for her to not answer my calls.” Lily stated, and Gabriel immediately reached out and grabbed his phone to make a call.
“Hello, Jeremy, Lily heard her husband say, which made her realize that he was talking to Jeremy.
“Is Vanessa with you?” Gabriel didn’t waste any time in getting to the point.
“Lily has been trying to get across to her, but she isn’t answering. If you do, let me know as soon as possible,” he said and hung up.
“Is she with him?” Lily asked her husband, who shook his head.
“I’m calling our then so they can track her phone,” he then told Lily.
