Chapter 58
Zabelle woke up the next morning due to the urge she had to pee. As she did, she was hit with a splitting headache and another urge to empty the contents of her stomach out.
Without wasting time, she headed straight into the toilet to do just that. When she came out, she was sure her insides were empty, but the spilling headache didn’t stop, and it felt like her head was about to split open.
The dizziness she felt didn’t help matters, and she proceeded to go down so she could see if there was anything she could have that would stop the headache.
Rubbing her eyes, she made her way to the dining table while hoping that the helper had already prepared something.
“Well, you finally decided to come out of the room,” she heard a man’s voice, and she shrieked in horror.
It took a few seconds for the adrenaline rush to come down and when she had regained herself a bit, she turned to look at who had spoken and her eyes widened in shock when she saw that it was Antonio who was casually sipping coffee while going through his tablet.
“What are you doing here?” She asked, and he turned to look at her.
“This is my mansion, I’m allowed to be here,” he said and she frowned.
“You haven’t been here in over a week, so I ask again, why are you here?” Knowing Antonio, she knew he never did anything without a plan in mind.
“And how did I get back to the mansion?” She muttered as the last thing she remembered was drinking in the club.
“You were a feisty one last night, why not go online and see what you did for yourself,” he urged her.
Forgetting all about the headache she had, she rushed upstairs to grab her phone and when she did, she immediately went online to see what Antonio was talking about.
“Ahh!” Antonio heard Zabelle yell and a smirk appeared on his face as he sipped his coffee and went through his tablet looking at what people were saying about him and Zabelle.
While he was used to negative comments about himself and thrived on them, the same couldn’t be said when it came to Zabelle.

He turned when he heard footsteps running down the stairs and a few seconds later, Zabelle appeared.
“You kissed me in public,” she held her phone up which was playing a video of her and him.
“Yes,” he answered casually, and this infuriated Zabelle. Why did he like to embarrass her in public, and how was it that he didn’t care about the embarrassment?
“Why?” She cried out as she ran her fingers through her hair roughly. The headache had worsened at that point.
“Because I wanted to,” Antonio answered casually, and Zabelle banged her palm on the table in annoyance as she bent to look at him.
“Stop kissing me,” she growled in annoyance.
Antonio looked at her and the next thing he did was to lean in and give her a quick kiss, which made Zabelle back away Zendaya in horror.
Her face turned red with anger, and she opened her mouth to curse him. However, he was quicker.

“Sit, have some soup, it will help with the hangover,” he said and she paused.
“Hangover, I didn’t drink,” she stated.
“That sweet drink you were having last night was alcoholic, and you drank a lot thinking it wasn’t hence the hangover,” Antonio explained.
“You can yell at me, but you’ll regret it if you don’t take care of the hangover first.”
Taking his advice, she sat at the table and grabbed the plate of soup that was in front of her. Without bothering to use a spoon, she picked it up and started drinking the contents.
She just wanted the headache gone, and she didn’t have the patience to use a spoon.
Antonio watched her drink the soup without interrupting her. When she was done, she turned to face him.
“Why are you here, Antonio?” She asked him again in a serious tone.

“Because it’s my mansion, and I’m allowed to be here,” Antonio repeated, and Zabelle sighed as she realized that he wasn’t ready to answer her question.
Without thinking twice, she got up to leave, but Antonio held her hand when she passed by him.
“Where are you going?” He asked her.
“Back to the room. I’ve gotten used to your absence, as I like the peace and quiet that comes with it,” she responded.
“With you here, I won’t be able to enjoy that.”
“Are you kidding me?” Antonio hissed in annoyance.
“Were you expecting a royal welcome?” She raised an eyebrow as she pushed his hand off hers and walked away.
He immediately got up to follow her, and she increased her strides upon noticing this.
What was up with Antonio today, and why was he behaving strangely? She wondered as she tried to remember what had happened the previous night.
Running to her room, she quickly locked it just in time as Antonio was right behind her.
“Zabelle, open the door!” He ordered and she stepped away from it.
He didn’t get to abandon her and then come back like nothing had happened. If she gave him a chance, he wouldn’t hesitate to use it against her the first chance he got.
That was the kind of person Antonio was, a devil who only thought about himself, and she wasn’t planning on falling into his
trap.
Whatever feelings he had invoked in her all due to his pretense wasn’t going to come back again, she promised herself.
She turned her attention away from him when her phone rang and when she checked the caller ID, she saw that it was Alicia calling her and it was a video call.
Shit! She cursed as she looked at the door, which Antonio was still banging.
Walking up to it, she opened it and answered Alicia’s call at the same time.
“You..“ Antonio started, but he swallowed the rest of his words when his mother’s face came up on the screen.

“Hi mom,” he said instead.
“Well, if it isn’t the two lovebirds,” Alicia smiled. “I was hoping when I would finally see signs that you two were on honeymoon.”
“Well it’s Antonio’s fault as he had been killing the mood,” Zabelle immediately shifted the blame to him, and it wasn’t far from the truth.
Antonio had ghosted her the moment they arrived on the island, refusing to contact or even leave in the same house as her.
“Of course, it’s obvious, you didn’t have to tell me,” Alicia hissed under her breath as she glared at Antonio who smiled at his mother in return.
“Must you be so difficult?” Alicia asked her son, who shrugged casually. “But that aside, I saw the video and you two looked so good,” she clapped excitedly.
Zabelle’s cheeks immediately turned pink with embarrassment, and she turned to look at Antonio, who now had a grin on his face.
“See, I can be romantic as well,” he told his mother. There was nothing romantic about him kissing her, as she was sure he had done it for an ulterior motive. Too bad she couldn’t remember.
