Looking at the red book, it all felt surreal.
I was married.
Ben was my husband.
Looking out the window, I asked, “Where are
we going?”
The traffic light was red, so Ben stopped the
car.
He turned to me and said, “A hotel.”
“Why are we going to a hotel?”
Ben looked into my eyes.
I blushed.
く
He lifted his hand and pinched my chin, “You
blush too easily.”
“What are you thinking about?”
“You thinking about me without clothes or
how you took control last night?”
Ben said that with such a calm face.
It sounded like he was just asking if I had
dinner.
He gently touched the scratch on my lips.
I bit his finger.
Ben’s eyes turned dark.
“Vou like my band bub?”
く
I quickly pulled back.
I was just a keyboard warrior.
In real life, I was too scared.
I had been flirting with Ben but he was too
much for me.
My face was red.
“Professor Harrison, you’re being vulgar in
broad daylight!”
The light turned green, Ben took a breath and
started driving.
He was so proper.
I must have imagined it.
What a fake.
Ben drove me to my house, and told me to
pack my stuff and move in with him.
I nodded.
“Oh, what happened to Jason?”
Ben glanced at me, and I looked away.
“I broke his legs and sent him to jail.”
“”
He said it so easily. I was speechless. “Still
thinking about him?”
Ben said, “Taylor, my cousin told you about
me.”
“I’m not a good guy, I’m very unforgiving.”
“Those who betray me won’t have a good
ending.”
“You better be good. It’s too late to back out
now.”
“I’m not! He deserved it. That guy’s
garbage.”
I was thinking that some people just break
down.
Or maybe they were always bad, but my crush
made them seem good.
It made me blind to their real nature.
く
The guy was just a memory.
Looking at Ben, I gave him a peck, “No
regrets. Professor Harrison, you’re everything
I wanted.”
Then, I opened the car door and ran.
But Ben turned the car and stopped in front
of me.
