Kayla didn’t need to think about it too much, the money would be back in her hands soon enough anyway. She didn’t even waste time on words, just had someone start packing their things up

When Stephanie saw what was happening, she freaked out What are you doing? Why are you touching my

stuff?”

Her face was all kinds of angry

Kayla just smirked. Simple. You need to get out.”

Ferris, seeing his plantsthe ones he had been babying for agesgetting thrown around, looked like he was about to lose it. How dare you throw out my things like this?””

Kayla chuckled It’s just a plant Why does it matter?”

He had said the same thing to her when her dog passed away, so she didn’t feel a bit bad

Pack up and leave. Today, she said, no room for argument

Ferris was shaking now. How could you do this to your own father? You’re gonna get a bad karma for real!”

Kayla’s eyebrows shot up. Are you cursing me?”

Ferris couldn’t even say anything back, just stood there frozen

Kayla laughed. You, an old man who betrayed your wife and daughter, haven’t had anything happen to you. What makes you think karma is going after me?”

She turned to walk away but stopped to give the bodyguard an order. Give them three minutes. If they’re still here after that, throw them out. I don’t want trash on my doorstep.”

too

Back in her room, Kayla’s phone rang. It was Simon, sounding way more upbeat than usual. It lifted her mood

Kayla, there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you,he said, but then hesitated

After a beat, he added, Forget it, we’ll talk when we meet.”

However, he never said anything afterwards. Not long after, she had everything ready and filed the lawsuit

When Lionel found out, he was still staring at her with those bloodshot eyes. But now, Kayla couldn’t stomach

word he said

She and Simon had been busy for days, sorting through all the materials for the trial, making sure everything was

ready

A few days later, the trial was finally over. The judge brought the gavel down and that was itlast session done

Gown My Dear Demustand

Kayla let out a sigh and sank back into her chair

Simon turned to her, grinning. Ms. Sutton, we did it! Big win. You’ve worked hard these past few days.”

She glanced over at the defendant’s seat, where Lionel was slumped, looking like he had just lost everything. He had cheated on Stephanie over and over during their marriage and the Sutton Family’s servants were ready to

testify

Then there were those fake videos, the ones they had spread with Al tech to ruin her reputation. Everything was clear, all laid out. The divorce was inevitable and Lionel was about to pay the price for his actions

Kayla stepped outside into the sunlight, feeling the weight lift off her shoulders

Simon looked at her with a little grin. Ms. Sutton, how about we grab a bite? There’s that restaurant near the school, wonder if it’s still open.”

I think so,she said, a small smile forming as they walked together

This was the moment Simon had imagined over and overwalking next to her, not across from her anymore. But even though they had won, there was still more to be done. Lionel and Ferris were getting what they deserved, but Stephanie had managed to slip through the cracks

A little while later, Kayla took Simon to see Lionel. Seeing him so beaten down and broken, she didn’t feel the rage she once did. Instead, there was just a quiet sense of finality
