Chapter 38
Antonio was listening patiently as one of the heads of the department gave their quarterly report when he saw his phone light up.
It was usually on silent when he was in a meeting and so, he ignored it at first but when the call dropped, the caller called again.
He sighed as he grabbed his phone, and a frown appeared on his face when he saw that it was his mother who was calling.
She was supposed to be engaged with Zabelle and her wedding dresses, so why was she calling? Knowing his mother, he knew the whole choosing a wedding dress would take a long time without giving her any opportunity to call him.
Did something happen? He asked himself as he answered the call
“Antonio, s–someone has taken Zabelle, come here now!” He heard his mother’s frantic voice.
His frown instantly changed into a dark look over the fact that Zabelle had been taken.
Not caring about the meeting, he immediately got up and headed out of the conference room.
As soon as he got into the elevator, he proceeded to call Martin, his head of security, so he could get to work
“Zabelle had been kidnapped, track her phone down!” He instructed and disconnected the call.
Whoever took her and whoever was responsible had just made a terrible mistake of messing with him, and they would regret it once he got their hands on them.
When he got to the store where his mother was, his father was already there, and they were already checking the CCTV footage from outside the shop where she was taken.
“Did you get the plates?” William asked his head of security, who nodded and immediately went out to make a call.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean for this to happen,” Alicia apologized and while Antonio wasn’t blaming his mother, her apology wasn’t useful unless it was going to bring Zabelle back.
“What happened before she was taken?” Antonio asked calmly, careful not to raise his voice, so his mother wouldn’t feel even more guilty.
“Her mother and sister came into the store and left after we exchanged words I got a call from the driver that they were causing trouble for him, which is why we went down,” Alicia recounted.
So her family had something to do with this, his eyes met with his father’s, and they seemed to have the exact thought running through their minds.
“You need to go home, Antonio, and I will handle it from here,” William said to his wife who shook her head as she didn’t want to do that.
“There’s no argument about this, Alicia. You’re going home.” his father said, and Antonio turned to leave at that instant. He headed back down as he observed the spot where Zabelle had been taken.
Now that he wasn’t in front of his mother, his blood boiled as he remembered what he had watched on the CCTV footage. Those assholes better have not laid a hand on her, he clenched his fists.
It was the first time something like this was happening in a long time as no one dared to challenge their family by kidnapping them which was why they had relaxed on the security, but it was time for it to come back in full force.
He broke out of his thoughts when he heard his phone ring and when he looked at it, he saw that it was Alejandro calling

him.
The latter had been trying to reach him since he left the meeting, but he had ignored him. Seeing that he couldn’t ignore him any longer, he answered the call.
“What happened? You left abruptly,” Alejandro immediately fired at him.
“Zabelle has been taken,” he informed Alejandro, and he heard the latter exclaim from the other side.
“How? When? Who is responsible?”
“I’ll tell you that later, for now, I need you to do something for me,” he told Alejandro.
“Just say it,” Alejandro urged him, and Antonio told him what he needed to do.
“I’ll call you when it’s done.” Alejandro said, and he disconnected the call.
“Sir, we’ve traced the plates, and it was reported stolen three days ago,” his father’s head of security informed him. “Our men are trying to see if we can pull it up on the city’s security camera and track it.”
“Come to me when you have good news,” was all Antonio said before he dismissed the man.
In the next moment, he received a call from Martin informing him that Zabelle’s phone couldn’t be tracked, but he had still found her.
“Hay she been tracked?” He heard his father’s voice from behind him.
“No, her phone isn’t on, Antonio told his father and William chuckled.
As much as you hate me, you’re like me and we think alive. I know for a fact, her cell isn’t the only way to track her,” William stated. “Her wedding ring, for example, is my biggest bet. I’m sure it has a tracking device in it.”
“Yes, it does,” Antonio told his father as he began to walk to his car. There was no use lying to his father when he had learned the trick from the old man.
Just like Zabelle, his mother had a tracking device on her wedding ring, the only difference was that his mother was aware and Zabelle was not.
“I’m coming along with you,” William told his son, who opened his mouth to argue.
“Argue is only going to waste your time and endanger your fiancée, William however retorted before his son could say anything.
Seeing that his father was right, he decided not to argue, and his father got into the car.
“Where’s mom?” Antonio inquired.
“On her way home,” William informed his son, who immediately started the car.
Zabelle slowly opened her eyes and she groaned in pain as her head felt like it had been hit with a hammer.
Maybe it had, she thought to herself as she tried to touch it and to get rid of the warm liquid trailing down her face. She however found her hands tied to a chair and memories of what had happened came hitting her.
She had been kidnapped by masked men and had been hit at the side of her head to knock her out. This meant that the warm liquid was her blood.

With that notion realized, she immediately started to struggle in bid to free herself, but they had been tied to tightly that as she struggled, it only dug into her skin and she hissed.
“Go on, you’re putting on quite a show,” she heard someone say, and when she looked at the direction the voice had come from, she saw a man in a ski–mask watching her.
“W–who are you and what do you want with me?” Zabelle asked while cursing her luck. From almost being raped to getting stabbed, and now to being kidnapped, there was truly no winning for her.
Those are good questions, thankfully you have a lot of time to ponder on that question and come up with an answer.
