Chapter 6
She had stayed here for him.
And he had promised to be her rock for the rest of her life,
Promised never to betray the love between them.
But what had he done?
Guilt and regret tore at him.
After a long silence, Dylan spoke coldly.
“My wife will only ever be Junie.”
“Whether she is alive or dead, I will marry no one but her.”
“I don’t care if Tatum is married or not.”
“That night three years ago was a mistake. If I had known it would lead to Hope’s birth, I would have never had anything to do with her again”
“If this wedding is what you want, then you can deal with it yourselves!”
“I will find my wife–even if I have to risk my life to do it!”
With that, he turned and left.
Before he could step out of the hall, Tatum rushed forward, holding Hope in her arms.
Tears streamed down her face.
“Dylan, Hope accidentally broke a glass just now–his arm is bleeding! Where are you going? Can’t you take him to the hospital first?”
Bright red blood dripped from the child’s thin arm.
At that moment, Dylan’s phone rang.
It was his assistant calling.
Without even sparing Tatum a glance, he said,
“Take a cab yourself. From now on, my parents will take care of the child.”
Then, he walked out of the wedding venue.
As soon as he stepped outside, he answered the call.
“Did you find Junie?”
The assistant let out a long sigh.
“President Owen, I’ve searched everywhere. So far, all we know is that Miss Lawrance stayed in a hotel two nights before she left. We also found her flight information at the airport, but nothing beyond that.”
“You should ask the rescue team. It’s been so long–the body may have already been recovered…”
Before the assistant could finish, Dylan abruptly hung up.
He refused to believe it.
He refused to believe that Junie had left him.
He refused to believe that she had perished in that plane crash.

Jumping into his car, he slammed his foot on the gas, speeding toward the rescue team.
But after passing two intersections, he suddenly hit the brakes, bringing the car to a screeching stop by the roadside.
Frustrated, he slapped himself twice across the face.
It was he who had orchestrated that accident.
He who had arranged for her surgery.
Junie was already weak.
Even a healthy person might not survive a plane crash.
How could she have possibly made it?
His emotions spiraled out of control.
He pulled out his phone and opened his chat with Junie.
Her profile picture showed her smiling like a blooming flower.
For a moment, it felt as if she were still by his side.
At a time like this, only her lingering traces could bring him the slightest comfort.
His fingers trembled as he reached out, repeatedly stroking her profile picture.
Their last conversation had been two days ago.
He had explained that night’s banquet to her, his words earnest and sincere.
But Juniehad never replied.
She never ignored his messages.
No matter what she was doing, she always set his messages as priority notifications.
She always picked up his calls immediately.
When had she started to change?
How had he never noticed?
Perhaps…
Everything had been different since the car accident.
Dylan scrolled up through their chat history.
It was the wedding Junie had dreamed of for five years.
“Dylan, does this wedding dress look good? I want something sparkly–my long legs can’t go to waste!”
“Let’s take our wedding photos in this style, okay? I want them printed and hung in the most prominent spot at the venue. I want the whole world to see my happiness, to see how much my husband loves me!”
“Dylan, the wedding ring we bought last time seems a bit too big. Can I exchange it? You said you had a surprise for me–don’t tell me you designed the ring yourself? You’re so sweet…”
He had designed a wedding ring.
But… it wasn’t for Junie. It was for Tatum.
Those dresses she adored–they were nothing more than props he used to brush her off.

Chapter 6
Junie had spent five years eagerly awaiting their wedding.
From the very beginning, he had been deceiving her.
Yet she never noticed, lost in the joy of love, convinced she had found the one person in the world who would cherish her forever.
The sheer happiness in her messages made Dylan break down in sobs.
Tears dripped onto the phone screen.
Over and over, he sent her messages-
Confessing his love for her.
Pouring out his guilt.
But each message came back with the same response–a red exclamation mark.
Junie had blocked him.
Without hesitation, Dylan started the car and drove to the rescue team again.
But it was too late.
The team had found no trace of Junie in the sea.
At the same time, my plane landed.
I had left the country.
The plane crash was orchestrated by me.
