William finally realized something was wrong. His expression froze and he quickly. let go of Rossa, as if he had touched a hot
potato.
“Mom… it’s not like that. Rossa lost both her parents at a young age and her situation is pitiful. I’ve always treated her like my little sister…”
I couldn’t help but laugh coldly in my heart. Little sister? What a joke–what kind of sister sleeps with her brother every day?
Rossa, having just been humiliated by me, was now seething with anger. She gritted her teeth and pointed at my eight younger brothers, who were standing loyally behind me like personal bodyguards. With sarcasm dripping from her voice, she said,
“Dana, you sure know how to put on a show. You bring eight men with you to your mother–in–law’s birthday celebration to

make a grand entrance. But where‘ s Mr. William? Has he been left out of the picture?”
I chuckled softly and looked at William with great interest.
“Yes, darling. What do you think? Where should I put you?”
What a laugh! A year ago, if it weren’t for William and Rossa getting together and forcing me out, how could she, the mistress, dare to question me?
The reason I came here today was because William begged me to help him cover up his affair, using me as a shield for his affair with Rossa. Rossa, that idiot, had the audacity to stir up the situation, practically exposing William and slapping him in the
face.
William’s face turned dark immediately. He glared at Rossa in frustration, then pretended to be affectionate as he put his arm around my shoulders.

“Look at what my wife says. Of course, I hold you in my heart.”
“But…” He paused, his smile fake. “Wife, when you go on business trips, bringing eight younger brothers back with you might give people the wrong idea.”
I let out a soft laugh, glancing at my eight younger brothers before turning my gaze
back to Rossa.
“What’s there to misunderstand? All eight of my younger brothers are talented, each one a dragon among men. They‘ re potential investments I’ve made and business partners of mine–not like some people who only rely on looks to get ahead.”
My eight younger brothers stood tall, their chests puffed out with pride as they glared at William, challenging him openly.
William gritted his teeth and turned to my mother–in–law.
“Mom, look at Dana. She’s getting more.

and more outrageous. Don’t you think you should say something to her?”
I had been thinking about how to explain. things to my mother–in–law, but unexpectedly, she glanced over at the sixteen young, handsome men standing behind her before looking at William.
“Dana has only invested in eight promising young men. I’ve invested in sixteen. Do you have a problem with
that?”
When we first entered the room, I had
noticed the sixteen men in suits and sunglasses standing behind my mother–in- law. I had assumed they were bodyguards she brought with her. Little did I know, they were her pampered younger brothers.
I had to admit, my mother–in–law was truly sharp. Her ability to hold her ground was impressive. It was clear she and I shared a similar taste in the types of men we surrounded ourselves with and William clearly didn’t expect this. His face

“You and Rossa were hugging and kissing earlier and I saw it with my own eyes. I didn’t complain about you causing a scene. William, even though your father is gone, don’t forget that I spent over twenty years with him. Don‘ t think I don‘ t know all the tricks you and your father played!”
My mother–in–law‘ s words were delivered with such power that William was left speechless.
