Chapter 15
Three months later, I was harvesting dew covered herbs in the garden beside our camp someone approaching
“Giselle Evadne.
I spun around, automatically dropping into a defensive stance. An older man with striking silver hair stood before me, dressed in an impeccably tailored navy suit, leaning slightly on an elegantly carved oak cane. He wasn’t projecting any threatening pheromones, but I immediately sensed he was no ordinary wolf. His aura was controlled but powerful.
“Who are you?” I demanded.
He smiled slightly. “My name is Belmont, Elder of the Galaxy Pack, and an old friend of your father, Oliver Evadne.”
My heart skipped a beat. My father’s name was something I hadn’t heard in decades. In my hazy memories, my parents were just shadows lost in territorial wars.
“That’s impossible,” I shook my head. “I was found as an orphan on the borders of Moon Shadow territory. Nobody knew my parents.”
The elder reached into his suit jacket and pulled out an intricately crafted amulet. Engraved on its surface was the exact same family crest as the pendant I’d worn around my neck since childhood–a crescent moon encircling a five–pointed star.
“The blood running through your veins is far older and more powerful than you realize, Giselle,” he said, his eyes gleaming with something ancient. “You’re not just a healer. You’re a descendant of the Moon Shadow bloodline, an ancient and powerful lineage. It’s time for you to learn your true purpose.”
The amulet couldn’t be faked–my pendant was my only childhood relic, something no one but me.
“What purpose?” I asked warily, my voice slightly unsteady.
“Protection and balance,” Belmont replied calmly. “Your abilities extend far beyond healing wounds. The Moon Shadow family has always been guardians.Go with me, do what you need do.”
My wolf rumbled deep in my consciousness, suspicious yet intrigued.
“I need to say goodbye to my aunt” I said.
Belmont nodded. “Of course. I’ll wait for you at the Northern Stone Circle in three days. That’s the gateway to your new life.”

Three days later, I shouldered my backpack, saying goodbye to Diana and Riley.
“If what this old wolf says is true, your path is more complicated than I ever imagined,” she said, her amber eyes flashing with worry. “But wherever you go, remember you always have a pack to come back
10.”
The Northern Stone Circle was an ancient transportation site, werewolves had used for centuries to traverse vast distances. Belmont was already waiting there, holding what looked like a tablet computer
rimmed with ancient runes.
“Ready, Giselle?” he asked. “The road ahead isn’t easy, but it’s the path you were born to walk.”
I took a deep breath and nodded.
“My father–was he really part of the Galaxy Pack?” I asked before crossing.
“He was one of our most powerful guardians,” Belmont answered. “He sacrificed himself to protect the balance. Now, that responsibility falls to you.”
The circle’s light intensified, my wolf howled in excitement, and the world began to spin and blur…
When I opened my eyes, the scene before me couldn’t have been more different from what I’d left behind.
Gleaming glass skyscrapers reached toward the clouds, crowds of people hurried along bustling streets, drones zipped overhead, and the distinctive urban cacophony assaulted my enhanced hearing–this was a modern metropolis that made my life in the wilderness seem like a distant dream.
“Welcome to the core territory of the Galaxy Pack,” Belmont said, leading me through the crowded streets. “This is where werewolves and humans coexist in harmony.”
Belmont introduced me to the core members of the Galaxy family, but one person caught my attention more than others–Froste, the Alpha heir of the pack. Tall and imposing, with a calm demeanor and penetrating gaze, he wore perfectly tailored suits and carried himself with a blend of elegance and power I’d never encountered before.
Initially, I kept my distance, past wounds making me wary of any Alpha. But Froste proved different from any werewolf I’d ever met–he never used his Alpha status or strength to intimidate, instead respecting my abilities and decisions, even fighting for me to have an independent research lab within the family’s
facilities.
“Your healing abilities are remarkable,” he told me after dinner one evening, his fingers lightly tapping against his wine glass. “The Galaxy Pack needs your knowledge and talent. And,” he paused, “you are special. I can sense it.”
Over the following months, I gradually integrated into this new world. My healing abilities found new applications in the high–tech urban environment, and I began researching ways to combine traditional

healing arts with modern medical technology. Meanwhile, my relationship with Froste evolved in ways hadn’t anticipated.
Unlike Tiberius, Froste never tried to

my trust step by step, with actions rather than words.
On the night of a full moon, Froste invited me to the top of Moonlight Tower, which offered a breathtaking view of the entire city.
“Giselle.” He pulled out an exquisite ring with a moonstone that glowed softly in the moonlight.
“This isn’t a chain, but an equal commitment,” he said. “If you’re not ready, I’ll wait. I can be very patient.”
My wolf stirred restlessly within me, not from fear, but from a strange longing. I looked into Froste’s eyes and saw none of Tiberius’s controlling nature–only sincerity and respect.
Under the bright moonlight, I accepted the ring.“I’m willing to try,” I said softly, “but I need time.”
“Time is something we have plenty of,” Froste smiled, “as long as we face it together.”
A month later, we held a simple yet dignified mating ceremony. As we exchanged vows, I felt the last ice in my heart begin to thaw. I finally accepted this new mate completely.
With Froste’s recommendation and support, I officially joined Galaxy Technologies as the head of the Biomedicine Research Division.
The first six months with Frost were what I’d imagined a relationship would be. He was attentive, supportive, and seemed genuinely proud of what I’d accomplished at Galaxy Technologies. My research was thriving, and I finally allowed myself to believe that I might have found a partner I could trust.
But then, subtle changes began.
After reinforcing his position as Alpha’s heir, Frost’s demeanor changed. His scent was tinged with unfamiliar perfumes he claimed belonged to “business partners.”
“You’re overreacting,” he told me when I asked him why he’d stayed out until dawn three nights in a row.
