Alpha’s Endless Regret: After The Barren Luna Leaves 67

Chapter 66

The sound of applause coming from the crowd was like a record set on repeat. It seemed like it would never stop. I couldn’t help the feeling of warmth that bubbled deep down in my stomach

They must have heard the statement I just made. The nobles that had once looked at me as nothing but a peasant were now looking with a bit of wonder and amazement in their eyes

It didn’t matter if they’d thought of me as less than them before. I was sure they knew quite well what the implication of my statement meant

Someone who could boldly declare such a thing was no pretender and neither was she an incompetent noble lady

I was up for whatever challenge or competition lay ahead. It didn’t matter who I had to prove myself to. I would do it with pride and honour

I turned back to the crowd, my eyes flickering to each of the faces staring expectantly at me. I couldn’t

just stop now

To think that a day like this would actually come.I let out a small laugh, unable to hold back the smile

on my face

I slowly began to move as I spoke. I used to think that I was an orphan who didn’t deserve to be trusted. And then I met my brothers, my childhood mates and people who have proven to me time and time again that we had an unbreakable bond. I found out that I was loved by many, and today I was affirmed by the Elders that I am capable.”

I took one glance at Cyrus, a smile falling on my face. I believe that I will be able to do even more worthwhile things in the future!”

I did a small curtesy and made my way down the stairs as they all continued to applaud me. From the crowd, I could Alan, Askhan and Cyrus applauding me. They all had looks of pride in their eyes as they

watched me

I’d always waited for a moment like this. A moment where I would be applauded and held in such a high respect. It seemed it had come much sooner than I’d anticipated

I made my way down the stage and headed for Alan, Askhan and Cyrus. On the way, I passed by Froste who’s eyes seemed to be glued to me

There was a certain look in his eyes as he watched me. I didn’t need anyone to tell me before I noted the fondness in them. He was looking at me like I’d hung up the stars for him

Chapter 66

A part of me wanted to hold that face and forever cherish the softness in his eyes. That part was long

gone

I sent him a polite smile before facing forward and making my way to them. There was a nagging thought at the back of my head that just wouldn’t go away

It was like the look in Froste’s eyes were permanently imprinted in my head. Those soft eyes that seemed like they wanted to call me back, to dare me to look again at him

I don’t love him. Not anymore

I kept repeating that phrase in my head, like some sort of mantra. The more I said to myself, the more convinced I’d be that it was the truth. That was what I was hoping on

I could feel Froste eyes still on my back. No doubt he was staring blankly at me. None of that matters. I dared to take a look back and saw the same softness and longing still in his eyes. It was both surprising

It was a bit impressive that he was staring at me with such eagerness in his eyes but I wasn’t about to let

that bother me or affect me

I just got what I’d been working so hard for. I’d pulled allnighters for this and now I was finally here

It didn’t matter if he was wishing we could be together or whatever string of thoughts he had in his head

I would not entertain any of such. I had important things to do than getting into some emotional rut that wouldn’t even benefit me at the end of the day

From the corner of my eyes, I saw a bit of movement. I turned just in time to see Tina go up to Agnrs

She leaned closer to her and began whispering something into her ear. Her face was twisted in contempt

as she went on and on

At some point, Agnrs gaze landed on me. Her eyes held an unreadable expression as she watched me. No doubt, Tina was probably slandering my name to her again

I searched deep down in my chest for a feeling, a hint that maybe I cared even if it was just a little bit

Nothing

It didn’t matter what she said to Agnrs and it sure as hell didn’t matter if Agnrs believed. I didn’t care and I would never care

Chapter 67

I had become what I’d worked so hard for. A student of the Elders. This only means I’m one step closer to

my goal

I shook my head and went straight to Alan, Askhan and Cyrus. They were all looking at me with pride in

their eyes

It sent a giddy feeling down my spine. It felt good go get to have so many people supporting you and wishing for your success

That was amazing Alan started. You did absolutely great out there, Giselle.”

Itry.I raised my hand, unable to fight back the grin coming forward

I looked around at the nobles still enjoying themselves. For some people, today had been a day that brought them closer to their goals. To others, it would be a day of sorrow to them since they failed, I was lucky to be part of the former

What do you say we enjoy ourselves some more?Askhan had a wide grin on his face as he spoke

As fun as the idea sounded. I was beat. The idea didn’t sound all that appealing. I was already exhausted from the whole thing and wanted nothing more than to rest

That sounds fun but I’m beatI said to Askhan

He looked a bit down from what I said but he got over it pretty quickly. Alright, then. You need to get

some rest.”

I nodded, and bird them all goodbye before I began making my way to my car. Once I entered, I let out a breath I didn’t know I’d been holding

Another day. Another success

Just then, the door opened and someone entered. My eyes widened as Cyrus got into his seat. He turned to me, a small smile on his face

He looked like a completely different person than the elitist persona he just had in front of people. His eyes held a gentle softness as he watched me

Tm sure you must have realized it already by now.He started, a small smile on his face

I nodded my head, but I didn’t say anything yet. I wanted him to expressly say it out without me needing to egg him on..

I’m your fourth brother, Cyrus Luciano. He bowed his head before me, the smile never leaving his face

Welcome home little princess, I apologize for the lateness of my blessing.”

My gaze was still fixed on Cyrus who had a bright smile on his face. His whole demeanor was calm, like

slow moving ocean

How did you do it?I asked. I thought it was just my four brothers but then I remember they told me it

was five, not four.”

Cyrus hummed as he listened to what I said. I went to a secret audition at the Royal Academy. I wasn’t

allowed to communicate with the outside world.”

Wow,I said, unable to believe such a thing was possible. How did you even do it?”

It wasn’t easy, that I’ll tell you.Cyrus laughed, shaking his head. I was recently just informed by Askhan that you’re my sister.”

I nodded. And now we’re here.”

And now we’re here.He repeated, his face beaming with a smile

I felt happy to finally meet my last brother. It was like the last piece of a puzzle had just been added and I could now see things clearer than I did before

I’m glad I finally got to meet you. You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for this.I smiled

Likewise,His face was filled with warmth as he spoke. I’m glad I finally got to meet my baby sister.”

He grabbed my hands and gave it a light squeeze. I promise to do my best in taking care of you at the Royal Academy in the future.”

My chest warmed with his affection. Cyrus was completely genuine as he said those words to me and I could tell just by looking into his eyes

He’d made them an open book for me to see, letting me read him in whatever way I liked. My smile widened without me even realizing it

Thank you, Cyrus.I said to him

My pleasure, sis.He sent me a wink and leaned back into his seat. He closed his eyes for a brief moment

I couldn’t help but wonder what was possibly going through his head at that moment. Then his eyes opened again.

He turned to me, unable to fight the smile off his face. I guess I’ll see you later.”

I nodded my head, staring into his eyes and savoring the look of them one last time. With that, he opened the door and headed out of the car

My gaze remained fixed on where he’d just been seating for quite some time. I’d just met my brother. The thought was exciting the more I rolled it over my mind

Letting out a breath, I turned to the driver. Take me home.”

Yes, princess. The driver said curtly before driving the car out of the venue. I leaned back into my seat and thought of all the events of today

I couldn’t help but think about how Froste had tried his best to make sure the real list was revealed. He’d tried to fight against the initial ruling
