Chapter 3
The friend request message read: “See it? My cash flow.”
. I ignored him. What a maniac.
I switched to another social media app, where the chat history with a mutual friend still showed messages from the day before yesterday.
“I think I like this girl, but I don’t know how to approach her.”
Ah, this is my area of expertise. Alpha Asher’s ex–girlfriends are countless–thanks to his money, of course.
“Do you have money?” I asked.
1/8
“Yeah.”
“Then throw some cash at her.”
“Wouldn’t that be a little… manipulative?”
“Of course, I don’t mean literally throwing bills at her! What I mean is, spend money on her, show her your financial prowess. You get it?”
“Got it.”
I passed along my brother’s method, but after meeting Ulric, I started wondering if I might have been wrong.
I hesitated for a while in the chat, unsure of what to say next.
But then he messaged me first.

“Your method doesn’t seem to be working.”
“Really? Why not?” I sighed. Looks like I might’ve messed someone up by teaching them my brother’s playboy tactics.
“The girl seems uninterested. She didn’t even add me on WeChat.”
“Maybe… maybe we were too aggressive. Let’s try a different approach.”
“Like what?”
“We’ll take it slow. Try to increase your chances of casual encounters. Over time, she might start feeling like there’s a connection between you two.”
He took a long time to reply. “Got it.”
Good, as long as he understood. I’m glad he

didn’t blame me.
Alpha Asher isn’t reliable either.
I sighed in relief and was about to go to sleep when I heard Liora answering the phone.
“Big Brother, I miss you.”
“Mm, I know. Can you buy me a bag? Let’s meet up next week, okay?”
“Aw, thank you, Big Brother! You’re the best!”
Her voice was so sweet and clingy that I got goosebumps, even though it was 32°C.
Vespera kept gagging and shouting that she wanted to go out and bite Liora to death.
Liora somehow became the class monitor

without even running for election.
On the first day of class, we had to pick up textbooks. Liora was eyeing Jora and me.
“Kaela, Jora, and you guys, go carry the ⚫ textbooks.”
The class leader was absent, and the rest of the class exchanged glances, wondering
Jora and I had done something to offend Liora.
Jora and I stayed put, while the other guys got up to leave.
I glanced at them; they all looked pretty weak.
“On your first day, and you’re not helping the class? What’s wrong with you?” Liora knocked on the podium, glaring at Jora and

- me.
“We’ll do it. Why wouldn’t we?” Jora spoke first, flashing a sweet smile at the remaining boys.
“Big Brother, I can’t carry these. If you help us out, I’ll treat you to a week of KFC, Jora mimicked Liora’s tone perfectly.
But honestly, I think Jora’s pout was far more natural.
Without saying a word, Jora sent a bunch of big red envelopes in the class group.
The boys all jumped at the chance to help, immediately offering to carry the textbooks.
I recognized one of them as a guy close to Liora. I’d heard they were getting a little flirty.

Looking at Liora again, her face turned pale with rage.
Jora thanked them graciously and whispered to me, “Liora’s method is actually pretty effective.”
Hmm, I think your money is even more effective.
I ignored Liora and gave Jora a thumbs–up. “Impressive.”
Fortunately, Liora didn’t stir up too much trouble that day.
The internet speed in the dorm was
atrocious, so I decided to head to an internet
café in the evening.
Just as I stepped outside the school gate, Ulric’s Porsche nearly ran me over.
7/8
Thank goodness Vespera had warned me to
move.
“What a coincidence, haha,” Ulric said from the driver’s seat, laughing.
“Coincidence‘? You almost hit me!” I rolled my eyes. “How about some compensation for the emotional distress?”
I extended my hand, pretending to ask for a payout.
Isn’t that supposed to make guys lose interest? When a girl starts talking money so casually?
