Chapter 9
“Didn’t you say he was an old man?” the teacher turned to Liora and asked.
“Well… yeah, I thought I heard the voice of a middle–aged man in the dorm,” Liora glanced at me, still shamelessly lying.
“Chenshi is Alpha’s son. If he’s dating Kaela, why would she need anyone else? Are you trying to sabotage me?” the teacher shot Liora a sharp look.
“I don’t know what she’s thinking, Liora fiddled with her fingers, then spoke louder, “But my brother is Alpha Asher. Those two buildings were donated by him for me. I wouldn’t slander Kaela.”
The teacher seemed caught in a tough

spot, unsure how to reprimand anyone, and noticed I was still standing there. “Kaela, you should head back to class, she suggested.
“Fine.” I didn’t want to stick around, tangled in this mess.
To be honest, my brother may seem carefree most of the time, but when it comes to me, he’s surprisingly protective.
Just as I was about to leave, my brother pushed open the door.
The loud sound drew the attention of
both the teacher and Liora, who had been whispering.
The sweet, syrupy voice rang out again, “Alpha Asher, what brings you here?”
“What’s up, sis? What’s going on?” Alpha

Asher ignored Liora completely and placed a hand on my shoulder. “Who’s bothering you?”
I rolled my eyes as his hand made my shoulder feel uncomfortably heavy.
“Alpha Asher, what do you think you’re doing?” Liora still hadn’t made a move to grab his hand and just stood there, stunned, watching us.
“I’m here to see which man is keeping my sister, my brother responded nonchalantly, his usual carefree attitude showing.
“Alpha Asher, what’s going on here?” the teacher stood up, glancing between me and Liora.
Wait a second, I just remembered that this teacher was also my brother’s. He’d always complained about how superficial Liora was.

“Alpha Asher, I’m Liora, not Kaela. Kaela’s my roommate,” Liora tugged at his sleeve, shaking it lightly, her voice taking on a whiny tone.
“She’s my little sister, Kaela,” my brother said, clearly confused, probably not expecting Liora to be so clueless.
Liora’s face contorted in disbelief, and the teacher exchanged a bewildered look with her. The room fell into a heavy silence, broken only when the principal stepped in.
“Alpha Asher, back again? Are you here to see Liora?” The principal walked over, hands clasped in front of him. Seeing my brother and me standing so close, he smiled warmly. “Ah, this must be Alpha Asher’s girlfriend, right? What a beautiful couple. Truly made for each other.”

“Principal, this is my sister, my brother explained with a bit of discomfort.
“Huh? Then who’s Liora?” The principal’s gaze shifted between my brother and Liora, ⚫ his confusion clear.
My brother seemed a bit embarrassed–after all, Liora had been his online romance, and he must’ve regretted getting involved.
“Principal, those two buildings were donated by my parents, under my name, so Kaela could have a better quality of life,” my brother clarified. He then shot Liora a cold, piercing look. “Liora, despite our issues, you can’t slander my sister.”
“No, Alpha Asher, I’m telling the truth!” Liora protested, her voice rising.

“You were in a dorm with four people. Did you sneak around and eavesdrop on Kaela’s room, or did she tell you she was meeting a man?” my brother pressed relentlessly, his tone cold.
Liora stood there, speechless, unable to respond.
After hearing the teacher’s side of the story, the principal immediately promised to investigate the matter thoroughly.
As my brother guided me out of the office, I caught the principal’s gaze. His eyes were filled with a mix of disappointment and anger as he looked at Liora.
“Sis, don’t dwell on the drama, my brother said, trying to cheer me up. Since we didn’t have any afternoon classes, he dragged me to an arcade.

I could tell he just wanted to play.
“Your online romance partner really is something else,” I teased him.
– “Ugh, who knew? She always sounded so
soft and sweet online. Who would’ve thought she’d turn out like this? You know, your brother’s still a bit naive. Got totally fooled, Alpha Asher groaned, placing his hand on his forehead, looking pitiful.
