When I had just graduated from college, I came to Alpha Group for a job interview through a friend’s recommendation.

On many late nights when I was still working, I’d find a cup of coffee or a late–night snack ⚫ on my desk. Sometimes there would even be a small note attached: “You’ve worked hard, but remember to take care of yourself.” It was always signed by him.
His attention made me wonder–was he interested in me?
One night, I was working past midnight. He came out of his office, stood beside my desk, and lightly tapped his fingers on the table, creating a soft, rhythmic sound.
I looked up quickly, and to my surprise, he was holding two plates–one with steak and the other with pasta.

I touched my face, feeling the heat of my embarrassment.
I couldn’t bring myself to meet his eyes.
He chuckled softly. “I can help you finish up. And if you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask.”
Having been single my entire life, I didn’t know much about romantic relationships. But little by little, my heart started racing uncontrollably whenever he was near. Late–night overtime wasn’t a burden
