I struggled against him, but his strength was overpowering, and I couldn’t break free.
“What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be with your fiancée?” I demanded.
At that moment, I truly couldn’t understand him. No, maybe I’d never understood him at all.
“Toying with other people’s feelings–what kind of person does that make you?” I gritted my teeth and spat the words out.
He froze, his movements coming to an abrupt halt. It seemed like I had angered him.
A small part of me felt a twisted satisfaction in that.

In the next instant, he grabbed my throat, his grip like iron. “Beth, let me tell you something,” he said, his voice cold. “When I first applied for this position, I already knew about your relationship with Dubel. I trust ⚫ him–he wouldn’t lie to me. I want you to
pay for what you did. And now, seeing you wander around like a hollow shell every day… it honestly brings me some satisfaction.”
“How laughable,” I scoffed. “Do you really think I’d take someone you like, someone she despises, as my boyfriend?”
He smirked, his smile twisted and sinister, sending a shiver down my spine.
His hands were beautiful–long, pale fingers with well–defined knuckles, and palms that were perfectly warm.

And those same hands, now firmly gripping my throat, rendered me motionless.
After what felt like an eternity, he finally released me.
. I collapsed to the floor, coughing violently.
“I hope the next time we meet, you’ll be watching me marry someone else, and you’ll see the happiness I’ve found,” he said coldly, before turning and leaving.
I leaned against the doorframe, struggling to stay upright, taking several moments to catch my breath.
Later, as I lay in bed, I thought long and hard before finally sending a message to Kfir
“I want to see Gomer. Please help me. Thank
you…

The next day.
We met at the same restaurant.
Years had passed, but seeing Gomer again. was like opening an old wound. She was different now, of course. The long, flowing hair she used to have in high school, reaching down to her waist, was gone. In its place was a sharp, professional look.
She sat across from me, and perhaps it was my presence that reminded her of those painful memories.
Her eyes flickered, avoiding mine.
I pushed the glass of water I’d poured in front of her. She took it with a polite nod. “Thank you.”

I wasn’t sure where to begin, but she spoke first.
“Kfir’s told me everything.”
“It’s about time the truth came out. The one ⚫ who started all of this was Dubel,” I said, my
voice steady but sharp.
Her emotions were raw as she continued, her voice trembling slightly. “I’ll never forget it. They spat in my face, stuck gum in my hair- all because I had evidence of them bullying others. They were desperate to get rid of me. That’s why I transferred schools”
Hearing that, it all came rushing back.
It wasn’t just because Gomer had evidence of Dubel’s wrongdoings. Before all that, Dubel had bullied Gomer, and when the teacher found out, she pulled Dubel out of

class.
She discovered the marks of Alpha Dulcea’s kisses on Dubel’s neck.
The teacher scolded her in front of everyone. “At your age, you should know better. What would your parents think if they saw you like this? Write a three–thousand–word reflection and have it on my desk by the end of the day!”
I still remember the way Dubel glared at Gomer, her eyes filled with venom, like she wanted to devour her whole.
Gomer gripped her water glass tightly, her face shadowed with guilt.
“Sorry, Beth. I’ve always owed you an apology. We were both victims of Dubel’s bullying. Before I transferred, my mom took

me to the headmaster’s office to report her. He promised us he’d take care of it.”
“I never thought… that you’d end up being seen as the aggressor.”
“I still have the video and photos from high school, when Dubel bullied you. They’re on my old phone. If you need them, I can send them to you.”
I clenched my fists, a cold shiver running down my spine.
I was eagerly anticipating the moment their scheme was finally exposed.
This was getting more intense by the second.
