Chapter 8
The wedding day was fast approaching.
The ceremony was set to take place at the Shengshi Minxiang Hotel. Coincidentally, Gomer worked there as the lobby manager.
Dubel, from Alpha Dulcea’s circle, looked like a completely different person. His smile was sweet, and he leaned his head against Alpha Dulcea’s shoulder, his gaze full of childlike innocence.
It was one of those rare sunny days, and for once, my mood wasn’t as dark as usual.
Kfir and I had planned a picnic for the day. The only thing that put a damper on our plans was bumping into them near a large tree, where they were taking their wedding

photos.
Maybe the smell of our barbecue was too tempting, but their little Corgi dashed over to me, drooling, and snatched a skewer right out of my hand.
And then I felt it–a gaze so intense, it seemed to cut through me.
I looked up and met Alpha Dulcea’s piercing stare.
Ugh, what bad luck…
The night before the wedding, the weather was still clear, making it impossible not to feel good. The stars above were especially bright, and I hummed a little tune as I walked past the streetlights.
When I reached the bottom of my building, I

saw that familiar figure again–Alpha Dulcea.
“You went out with him again?” His voice broke the silence of the night.
I didn’t answer him, choosing instead to offer a polite blessing. “Wishing you a happy marriage. You said you wanted me to witness your happiness, and I will. Good night. You should head back.”
Alpha Dulcea straightened up and let out a deep sigh.
“Then I wish you happiness too, in the future,” he said quietly.
With that, he crushed the cigarette in his hand and disappeared from my view.
I stood frozen for a moment before suddenly laughing, my tears threatening to spill.

I whispered to his retreating back, “Don’t worry, I’ll have a better life than you from now on.”
The next day, the wedding banquet began.
From across the room, Kfir gave me a thumbs–up.
Gomer glanced back at me with a smile, confirming everything was ready.
I sat in the audience, casually enjoying the expensive pastries laid out on the table.
The host stood at the center of the stage, his loud voice filling the hall.
“Now, the bride and groom will exchange their rings~”

Dubel shyly extended her hand, placing the wedding ring on Alpha Dulcea’s finger.
“Now, everyone, please enjoy the big screen and witness the love story of our bride and groom~”
As the screen changed, the audience started
to murmur.
“My god, what is this? It looks like a group of people bullying one person.”
“Wait, isn’t the one leading the bullying… the bride today?”
“Yeah, it really is! This is unbelievable!”
The host turned around, shocked.
The video zoomed in, a bit blurry, but clear enough to make out the faces of the people

involved. There were also photos of her getting intimate with various men.
Dubel, enraged, threw the bouquet to the ground, shouting frantically on stage.
– “Shut it off, shut it off! This is a prank! Don’t
you see it’s a prank?”
I rushed up to the stage, grabbing the microphone from the host’s hand.
“These videos and chat records are all true. The label of ‘abuser‘ that’s been pinned on me by everyone around me… has been framed by her…”
I vented all the frustration I had been holding in for years.
The audience murmured in surprise.

I heard someone whisper, “This is Alpha’s wedding! Who’s bold enough to do this?”
“Look at the video! She’s still in a school uniform! She was a mess back in school, let alone now.”
Alpha Dulcea stood off to the side, looking as though his soul had left him. His eyes were fixed on the big screen, his lips pale.
He must have been stunned, watching the woman he’d been so devoted to all these years reveal herself to be this kind of person.
