Dubel’s parents looked absolutely furious.
“What are you standing there for? Turn it off. Now!” they demanded.
The wedding scene descended into chaos. After a flurry of confusion, the guests began to leave in a hasty retreat.
Seeing this, Dubel’s parents rushed to the stage, trying to explain themselves loudly.
“Dear friends, today is our daughter’s big day, and I believe there has been some misunderstanding. Someone must have been meddling,” they said, their eyes shifting toward me.
“Please, we ask for your grace. Let’s at least

finish the ceremony peacefully.”
The crowd’s emotions calmed, and everything seemed to settle down.
Then, Alpha Dulcea called off the wedding.
He condemned Dubel for deceiving him, accusing her of not being honest about her feelings.
In the end, the wedding was canceled, and both families left in clear displeasure.
I thought I would feel vindicated, like I was finally free after all these years of torment.
But the truth was, I felt heavier than ever. It wasn’t relief I felt–it was emptiness.
I stood there like a cold, distant observer, watching them face the consequences of

their actions.
That night, I slept deeply and peacefully. It was the most restful night I had ever had.
Later, as I was hanging laundry on the
- balcony, I noticed Alpha Dulcea standing beneath my building.
It seemed like he sensed my gaze because he looked up, meeting my eyes.
This time, I didn’t hesitate. I turned and went inside my bedroom.
The next morning, I went out to buy
breakfast and saw that he was still standing
in the same spot.
The morning dew hung thick in the air, the humidity palpable.

His hair was a mess, strands sticking together, clearly showing he hadn’t left all night.
His eyes were bloodshot, exhausted.
After a long pause, he weakly spoke. “Beth, I know I’ve made mistakes. Can you forgive me?”
“There’s nothing left to discuss between us,” I said, my voice flat.
I walked past him, treating him like a stranger.
“I swear, I see through her now. Beth, it’s only after we’ve been apart that I realize… I’ve fallen for you. I can’t live without you. Please, give me another chance.”
I gave a cold, dismissive smile.

“If there’s going to be a second chance, could you take Dubel with you to hell? If it were you, could you pretend none of this ever happened?”
Alpha Dulcea froze, a look of shock and guilt spreading across his face.
I continued, my voice icy, “I’m leaving the pack tomorrow. Let’s never speak to each other again.”
His face drained of color.
He hesitated, standing there in silence, but in the end, he didn’t speak.
About a week later, I had already moved to another city.
Kfir sent me a message saying that Alpha

Dulcea had been in a car accident after driving drunk. He was unconscious and in critical condition at the hospital.
Another doctor had performed surgery on him.
His family was devastated, waiting outside the operating room, crying.
They kept saying, even though their hearts were breaking, they shouldn’t be punishing themselves like this.
I felt as if something had lodged itself in my chest, a pain I couldn’t describe.
A moment later, I replied, asking him to take good care of Dulcea.
And then, in that instant, I felt…

Like none of it mattered anymore.
As time passed, we faded from each other’s lives.
I married a wealthy man who was deeply ⚫ committed to his family and became a
mother.
Time truly is the best remedy–it allowed me to gradually forget those painful memories.
If I could do it all over again, I would wish that we had never met.
The End.
