Chapter 20%
Ariel’s knees buckled and she collapsed to the ground. “How could this be? I–I killed my own grandson with my own hands. “Cassandra, you have such a vicious heart! You knew you were pregnant but hid it from us! You deliberately let the child die just to make our family regret it!”
Cassandra walked up to Ariel, her back ramrod straight. “Ariel, I told you. I told you I was pregnant. I told you I couldn’t donate a kidney because it would kill me. None of you believed me. So, the one who killed your grandson was your own the Nolans. You’re all murderers.”
Trevor stood protectively behind Cassandra, his gaze shifting to the doctor beside him. The doctor spoke up. “Miss Stewart actually never had kidney failure. She transferred $10000 to me to help her stage the entire act. These are the transfer records.”
The room fell silent. Instantly, Francesca became like a rat caught in the gutter, the disgust in everyone’s eyes unmistakable.[
“I can’t believe how evil Francesca is! Framing someone is bad enough, but she even wanted to steal her kidney?” “She should be reported to the police. A woman like this belongs in jail.”
“Francesca is horrible, but the Nolans are her accomplices. If they hadn’t indulged her, how much trouble could she have caused on her own?“&
Samuel tightened his fists, wishing he could kill Francesca straight, but he remained calm as he questioned Cassandra. “Why did she specifically want your kidney?”
Cassandra snapped her fingers. A recording of the surgery room conversation played over the speakers. Francesca’s voice rang out, “Cassandra, you’ve lost. No matter what, Sam will always choose me. How could you get pregnant? Since you won’t get rid of it yourself, I’ll help you.”
Cassandra’s pupils shrank in horror. “You knew everything. This was all your plan!”
Francesca smirked. “That’s right. So what? In an hour, your child will be gone.“}
Ariel was so overwhelmed that she fainted on the spot. Eric quickly called an ambulance and had her taken away. Samuel remained where he was. Cassandra stared at him coldly, her voice sharp as ice. “What, do you think you haven’t embarrassed yourself enough? Still standing here waiting to be humiliated, huh?”
Thud!
Samuel suddenly dropped to his knees before her. Everyone gasped. Even Cassandra was momentarily stunned. Samuel Nolan had always cared about his pride, yet today, he was kneeling in front of her in public. “Cassie, you have every right to hate me. I deserve it!” After saying that, Samuel slapped himself hard across the face.
Francesca grabbed Samuel’s hand, sobbing, “Sam, she doesn’t love you. It’s not worth it to do this for her! I’m the only one who truly loves you!”
Suddenly, Samuel’s expression turned fierce. He grabbed Francesca by the throat, his face a mask of terrifying rage. “You vicious woman, even if Cassie doesn’t love me, I would never love a venomous woman like you! You can wait for the law to deal with you!“%
Samuel shoved Francesca away with such force that she slammed her head against a nearby pillar and passed out. Then, Samuel clutched at the hem of Cassandra’s dress, his eyes brimming with tears. “Cassie, I’ll make sure you get justice for everything you’ve suffered. Let’s start over, okay? You used to chase after me. Now, let me chase after you, please?” It was probably the lowest Samuel had ever stooped in his life.”
Cassandra took a step back, her expression blank. “Samuel, we ended a long time ago. The one who hurt me was Francesca, but the one who made me suffer was always you. Also, I’m already married to Trevor. I don’t cheat.”
