Chapter 250
Samuel was utterly unrecognizable, terrifying her. She backed away, trying to put as much distance between them as possible. “Samuel, you’re sick. You need help. Let me go and I’ll take you to the hospital, okay?“”
Samuel was acting like he’d completely lost his mind. Still, she knew that people with mental illness could seem perfectly normal until they had an episode. Suddenly, Samuel grabbed Cassandra’s ankle and pinned her head down. “Cassie, don’t run from me. I bought a private island overseas. Just for the two of us. We’ll live happily ever after.“”
Cassandra’s eyes widened. He was planning to imprison her! No way. She had to find a way to escape but couldn’t fight him directly.
The necklace she wore was a tracker, a gift from Trevor in case she was ever kidnapped. It was usually off and she needed to press a hidden button to activate it. That meant she had to get Samuel to untie her. Cassandra tried to sound weak and pleading. “Samuel, I won’t run. I couldn’t even if I wanted to. Can you please untie me? It hurts.“}
Just as she expected, Samuel’s eyes softened with concern. “Cassie, I’ll untie you, but you have to be good, or I’ll put a chain on you. Forever.”
Disgust churned in Cassandra’s stomach. Samuel claimed he loved her, yet all he wanted was to control and possess her. This wasn’t love, but for now, she had to play along to send a signal to Trevor. “Okay. I promise.”
Samuel loosened the ropes binding her wrists. Cassandra remained obedient, waiting for the right moment. As soon as he was distracted, she discreetly pressed the button on her necklace.
Trevor had his people check the security footage from where Cassandra was taken. They saw her boarding a boat with Samuel. The open sea had no cameras, and they couldn’t find them. So, Trevor waited for Cassandra to send a distress signal.
Finally, it came through, along with her location. Trevor gathered four speedboats and two helicopters and grabbed his gun before heading out.
On the boat, Cassandra sat on the deck, waiting for Trevor. She regretted going to see Samuel. None of this would have happened if she hadn’t.”
Samuel came out and reached for her, but Cassandra instinctively flinched away. “Don’t touch me!“}
Samuel’s face darkened. “Cassie, don’t test me. Come here!”
“Samuel, stop this madness. You don’t love me. It is just your twisted obsession. You think I should always belong to you, and now that I’ve let go, you can’t accept it. That’s why you’re acting like this. You loved Francesca, but you still had her killed. Your parents raised you, but you repaid them with betrayal! Yes, they were wrong, but they never wronged you! You say you love me, yet you kidnapped me without caring about my feelings. You don’t know how to love anyone!”
Cassandra knew provoking him was dangerous, but she couldn’t stand being touched by him. The thought of it made her sick.
Samuel’s gaze turned ice–cold, his expression terrifying. “Cassandra, come here. Don’t make me repeat myself.”
She refused, stepping back until she was at the very edge of the deck. One more step and she’d plunge into the deep sea. “Samuel, don’t push me.”
His eyes turned bloodshot with rage. “Cassandra, I gave up everything for you! How dare you reject me?” He lunged at her, ignoring her protests.”
Just then, Trevor and his team arrived. From the helicopter, Trevor fired a warning shot at Samuel’s feet, forcing him to back away.
