Chapter 5
The Third Person’s POV
Antonio was startled, and he instinctively wanted to go home to confirm the situation.
But Jessie grabbed his wrist coquettishly. “Antonio, you just wanted to teach Grace a lesson. If you go back now, all your efforts will be in vain.” I’m worried she might do something even
worse.”
Antonio hesitated for a moment, furrowed his brows, and said, “But Grace isn’t in a good state now. I’m afraid something will happen to her…”
A hint of annoyance flashed in Jessie’s eyes, yet she still managed to force a gentle smile.
“Don’t worry for nothing. Grace is paralyzed. She can’t walk, so she can’t get far.
“Moreover, there are plenty of servants in the villa. She must be hiding somewhere and sulking at you.”
Upon hearing this, Antonio relaxed his tightly knitted brows. “Jessie, you’re right. It’s time to discipline Grace’s temper.
“If I go back to her now, I’m afraid she’ll manipulate me and act even more aggressively towards me.”
That night, Jessie wanted to try something thrilling.

She and Antonio went to the suburbs, and they had a passionate night in the car.
It was not until dawn that Antonio noticed there were more than fifty missed calls from Reese Hooper, the butler, on his mobile phone.
“Reese, is something wrong at home?”
Reese’s panicked voice came through the phone, “Mr. Kaufman, Mrs. Kaufman didn’t return home all night!”
But he Antonio coldly. “I know. Grace is making you call to force. me to go back.
“Tell her not to play these tricks. I won’t forgive her until she apologizes to Jessie!”
Reese was taken aback for a moment. “But I really haven’t seen Mrs. Kaufman. All I found was the divorce agreement she left behind.”
There was a long moment of silence.
Antonio’s breath almost caught in his throat, and the words. “divorce agreement” kept echoing in his mind.
He shrugged off Jessie’s arms that were around his waist and started the car without even bothering to straighten his clothes.
The sudden jolt caused Jessie to hit her forehead against the car window, and she let out a disgruntled cry of pain.
Antonio, what are you doing?”
But she didn’t receive Antonio’s caress.

Antonio just coldly scolded, “Can you fasten your seatbelt by yourself?”
Before the car had even fully halted, he tumbled out and dashed into the house.
After seeing the document Reese handed him, he immediately looked pale.
The signature on the divorce agreement was unmistakably Grace’s handwriting.
In the property division section, she had actually chosen to leave with nothing.
Jessie pouted and followed Antonio. She glanced at the paper and sneered, “Grace is indeed a master of tricks. How could an orphan like her be willing to leave empty–handed?
“Reese, call her out now. What if she really irritates Antonio? This joke is not fun at all.”
As soon as she finished speaking, Reese turned serious.
“Ms. Weber, what are you insinuating? Do you think I would play around with Mr. Kaufman and Grace?
“The blood in the fountain was tested. It’s from Mrs. Kaufman.
“As for her whereabouts, the surveillance was cut that night, and we found nothing.”
Antonio seemed not to hear their argument.
He staggered into the room where Grace usually stayed.

The room reeked, and the bed was smeared with pus, blood, and filth.
He had never really stepped in here before. Specifically, he never truly cared about Grace’s life.
But he believed Grace had loved him so deeply. In his logic, Grace would never divorce him over a trivial matter.
Antonio admitted he had gone too far last night, but he thought. Grace had bullied Jessie first.
He blankly scanned the dark room and saw a voice recorder by the bedside.
