His sudden action startled Jessie.
Jessie glanced up at him timidly.
But Antonio grabbed her chin and forced her to look up.
“Jessie, do you really think I’m a fool?
“Have I been too lenient all these years? Do you think it’s okay to hurt my wife and child?
“I mistook the bond of being childhood sweethearts with you for love and neglected the one I truly loved.
“Listen up. I’ll never be with you in my life. Grace is the one and only Mrs. Kaufman!”
He ignored Jessie’s shocked expression. Then he took out al handkerchief and wiped his fingers.
He called Chaz and ordered, “Go and find out Mrs. Kaufman’s whereabouts right away.
“Check the flights, ferries, and the railway system! I can’t believe she could just disappear.”
He hung up the phone, but a sense of unease still lingered.
