“What are you doing?” Lyra had been full of surprises since I brought her into the house, throwing me off with every attitude from her. I was yet to recover from her pouring the food I worked hard to make on me, and here was another one.
“About to sleep.” I replied to her, staring at her, and she scoffed.
“Are you for real? When did we start sleeping together?” She raised her eyebrows, adjusting on the bed as if she was disgusted by me and didn’t want my hand to touch her. It wasn’t as if she was. She was really disgusted by my presence.
“Lyra..
She didn’t wait to hear what I had to say as she grabbed the pillow and got off the bed, groaning. “I will sleep in the living room. I can’t share a room with a stranger.” Those words from her tore through my heart like a dagger was being drilled into my chest
“What are you doing. Lyra?” I quickly stood up from the bed and held her hand, stopping her from leaving, but she yanked my hands off, her face laced with disgust as she threw him a glare.
“Don’t touch me. Enzo!” I squinted my eyebrows shockingly. That was the first time Lyra was going to address me by my name. She would always call me Alpha. She would never dare to look me in the eyes or talk whenever I was talking. With her attitude now, it felt like this wasn’t the same Lyra that left about six months ago. She had become another person.
“You can sleep here. I will go to sleep in the living room I picked up the pillow and glanced at her one more time before leaving the room.
My heart wrenched painfully as 1 lay on the couch in the living room, staring up at the ceiling.
We can’t find your wife, Alpha“.
Even after months, I couldn’t have forgotten the fear that gripped me when I was told Lyra had suddenly disappeared.
“I don’t love her. There is no way I will fall for someone like her.
I’d always lie to myself, trying to convince myself not to accept the obvious truth. I desperately wanted to defend her whenever she was being bullied, but my resentment wouldn’t let me do it. But that moment that she left, I realised how much I was desperately in love with her. That moment that I felt like I was going to lose my mind without her, especially when I thought of her being harmed by an enemy pack out there. The fear I felt then was something I haven’t felt in years.
For five months, I looked for her nonstop, but couldn’t find her as she was hiding so well from me, but I wasn’t going to give up on us. I wasn’t going to give up on her. I was determined to find her and make things right, I was ready to be the best husband to her this time, and the excitement I felt when I saw her pregnant. I had never been so happy about anything in my entire life, but I doubt if this was the same Lyra that I married then.
My thoughts were disrupted by the sound of my phone buzzing, and I hesitantly reached for it from the centre table after 1 sat up on the couch. I hissed loudly, tossing the phone back on the table when I saw that it was Amber.
Flashback to six months ago…
“What the heck was that, Amber? Why would you tell her that you are pregnant for me? I dragged Amber to my room and let go of her once we were inside.
“I only told you to fucking act like we are together. Wasn’t hurting her here not enough? Why the fuck would you tell her that you are pregnant?” I yelled at the top of my lungs.
“I’m sorry, Alpha. I wanted to make it real. She apologised to me, lowering her gaze,
1 scoffed, raking my hair with my fingers.
“Alpla, why are you bothered about how she’ll feel! You said you don’t have feelings for her, right?” Amber looked into my eyes, raising her eyebrows, and I scoffed.
“Love! I don’t love her. What if she spreads news that you are carrying my child? That is what I’m worried about” Deep inside me, I knew I was worried about something else. I was worried about the pain Lyra must be feeling after finding out about this. I was scared it’d break her.
Amber smiled, closing the distance between us as she placed a hand on my chest, looking up at me.
“Am I not beautiful enough, Alpha? Why don’t we make this real? You know how important and respected I am in the pack. I am the one you

deserve. I am the only deserving Luna of the Ember pack. You won’t regret making me your Luna. I promise.” She winked at me, drawing invisible lines on my chest with her index finger while pouting her lips.
“Come on. Alpha. We both know that I’m telling the truth Besides, I’m prettier and classier than that bitch“”
I grabbed her neck and slammed her hard against the wall, choking her. “What did you say?”
“Al_alpha_” she held my hand, trying to get it off her neck as she struggled to breath.
f you say shit about Lyra again, then consider yourself gone!” I spat at her as I let go of her neck, and she breathed heavily, coughing.
“Now, you listen to me. Amber Lyra is my wife, and the only one who can bully her is me. I won’t sit back and watch you hurt her ever again, so you better do the right thing” I snapped at her, and she looked at me with pain in her eyes as she nodded, but I could only care less.
“You are going to call Lyra and apologise to her.” I stated coldly, and her eyes narrowed.
“Wait what! Apologise to her?”
Present…
I was going to make Amber apologise to her the next morning when I was met with the news that she left, and I regretted my actions since then.
Will she ever forgive me!
