Chapter 10
He raised his head in confusion to look at the person he had always relied on, hat in Alexander’s eyes, ke
saw the same confusion.
How could this be? How could the truth be like this?
Alexander suddenly looked up, his gaze locking onto Olivia, who was trying to quietly slip out of the scene. It was as though he had finally found a breakthrough, and all his anger poured out in an instand.
“Why did you lie? I trusted you so much, Olivia, how could you end up like this?
He spoke with heartbreaking distress, and Benjamin immediately echoed, “Yeah, Aunt, why did you lie to us? Haven’t we been good enough to you?”
Seeing that they were both pushing the blame onto her, Olivia’s face was full of disbelief. Par remembering the surrounding guests, she endured it and suppressed her anger. With tears in her eyes, she said, “No… no, let me explain…”
“Great!”
Suddenly, a round of applause echoed from the audience, causing all the guests present to jump in surprise. They looked around, trying to figure out who was bold enough to clap at this moment.
Alexander and Benjamin were both stunned for a moment and turned to look at the source of the sound.
The person stood up, squinting their eyes, a smile in them. The corners of his mouth curled into a smirk as he spoke with a tone full of mockery.
“Really have to thank Mrs. Carter for showing us such a wonderful performance.”
“William Matthews?!” Seeing who it was, Alexander’s face froze, and his anger grew.
In that instant, besides his anger towards Olivia for deceiving him, he was also angry at Isabella for
making such a spectacle.
Why couldn’t she have explained things privately?
Why did she have to make such a decisive move and humiliate them in front of everyone?
No one explained to him.
When the guests saw who had spoken, they all felt an ‘I knew it‘ sensation.

Chapter 10
The Carter family was unrivaled in the city, but the Matthews family was one of the few rivals, and William had always clashed with Alexander, often enjoying seeing him make a fool of himself.
Given the situation, only he would dare to do something like this.
After enjoying the drama, William leisurely turned and left the banquet hall, not even giving Alexander a
chance to lash out.
With the banquet turning chaotic and William leading the way out, the other guests didn’t dare stay long and quickly left, citing other matters. In the blink of an eye, the once lively banquet hall was left with only Alexander, Benjamin, and Olivia.
The banquet was over, and she still hadn’t arrived. It was clear that she deliberately avoided coming to the banquet. Now, Alexander could no longer ignore the fact that they had all been played try Isabella.
Accumulating anger overwhelmed him, and with only the three of them left, Alexander retracted his earlier heartbreak. His eyes filled with cold fury. He raised his hand, and a sharp slap echoed through the
room.
Olivia was caught off guard, her head turned to the side. After a moment of stunned silence, disbelief surged in her eyes.
“You hit me? Alexander, you hit me!”
Tears gathered in her eyes immediately, but this time, her tears were not for show. They were real and
filled with hurt.
Facing her accusatory gaze, Alexander no longer felt the tenderness he once had.
“I thought you liked slapping yourself. I never imagined you’d stop.”
He smiled, but his smile didn’t reach his eyes.
As the words fell, Benjamin suddenly lunged at her, tears in his eyes, using all his strength to slap her,
relentlessly hitting her as she screamed in pain, without any mercy.
“You lied, you deceived us, you’re a bad woman!”
Who would have thought that not long ago, at the birthday banquet, he had said in front of everyone that he wanted his aunt to be his mother, and hoped his father and aunt would be together forever?
After all, as the only son of the president of Carter Group, it was highly likely that the company would
eventually fall into his hands.
In the past, he had been flattered and adored by others. When had he ever been looked at with such contempt by anyone?

Farewell Without Return
Chapter 10
Until Olivia, unable to endure the pain any longer, finally pushed him away in frustration.
After all, she was just a five year old child. How could she withstand the force of an adult’s push? She was immediately knocked over!
Olivia gasped for breath, leaning on a nearby table, trying to stand up while enduring the pain. She looked at the father and son in front of her, who were either full of disgust or hatred. Suddenly, she laughed.
“What are you laughing at?” Alexander frowned deeply, his voice full of disgust.
Amidst the disgust, there was also a hint of panic.
Recently, Isabella’s changes had been too drastic.
If it had been before, no matter how angry she was, she wouldn’t have publicly aired this kind of issue. Moreover, Isabella hadn’t really been angry in all these years.
Like that time, even when he publicly admitted in front of everyone that he hadn’t forgotten Olivia, she had simply stood by silently without saying a word.
She loved him so much–how could she do something so damaging to her own dignity?
