Chapter 8
It would be fine if she didn’t sympathize with him as a woman, but how could she say that Willa took the initiative to seduce him? Since when did his beloved little sister turn into someone he doesn’t even recognize? It’s like he never really knew her at all.
For the first time, he felt disgusted with Jade. Disgusted by her indifference. Disgusted by himself, the man responsible for all this. His face darkened as he yanked his hand away from Jade. “That’s enough. Willa isn’t that kind of person. There must be some kind of misunderstanding No matter what happened to her, I’ll find her. She’s, my wife. You have nothing to do with this. Go back and rest.“W
Jade’s eyes flashed with unwillingness, Jordan had barely taken two steps when she suddenly clutched her stomach, her face twisting in pain. “Ouch, Jordan. My stomach hurts so much. Did the fall into the water last time hurt the baby? Can you take me to the doctor? It really hurts.“W
Same old act, but Jordan wasn’t buying it this time. His cold gaze swept over her without a hint of emotion. Jordan stayed expressionless as he said, “If it hurts, stay here. I’ll call the doctor”
Then, he walked out of the private room without looking back. On the way to the deck, whispers and mocking voices from the guests filled his ears.N
“I heard Mr. Griffin lit sky lanterns for Miss Jefferson! Such a grand gesture. Childhood sweethearts, huh? No wonder he doesn’t care that his wife is being humiliated. He’s still hung up on someone else.”
“That woman must’ve been part of an act too, right? Everyone knows Miss Jefferson is the one he truly cherishes. He casually throws away 200 million like it’s nothing and we’re supposed to believe he doesn’t love her? This whole banquet is obviously for her benefit. We’re just here for the show. “N
“Miss Jefferson is clean and pure. What, you think he’d actually love that whore instead? I heard Mrs. Griffin was spotted with those men again, all leaving together. Who would’ve thought? Looks all proper on the outside, but she’s got a real appetite.“W
Every word hit Jordan like a blade. Each sentence made his chest tighten and his heart clench in pain. He didn’t understand. He had ordered a complete media blackout on what happened to Willa. The private room had been thoroughly checked. Only his people had been there.N
So, how did the guests know? What had Willa gone through while he wasn’t there? Had she heard these words with her own ears? He didn’t dare think about it. It felt like his very soul was trembling. He had planned it all out. After the banquet, once the yacht reached the shore and the baby was gone, he would look after Willa and nurse her back to health.M
He would stay by her side through therapy. Help her walk out of the darkness. Even if they no longer had a child, he would spend the rest of his life making it up to her. As long as he was there, no one would dare treat her with disrespect.M
Now, everything had fallen apart. Panic surged inside him as he quickened his pace. He rushed to the deck, only to find a single shoe. A pair of slippers, the ones he had personally picked out for her before boarding the yacht.
He would never mistake them, but aside from that, there was no other trace of her. Jordan’s eyes turned bloodshot. He spun around and stormed into the surveillance room, frantically searching for her last footage and then he saw it.”
Willa stood with several men and they shoved her to the sea. At that moment, every drop of blood in his body turned to ice. Willa had found out, she knew he hadn’t avenged her. She knew he had let those people stay on the yacht, drinking and laughing.
