Her Night Dance
Chapter 12
Months ago, I had just won an important dance award. A TV
network invited me to choreograph a solo routine for their
Christmas Eve special.
Christmas has always been a big deal, and I was no exception.

For me, though, it wasn’t just about the holiday. I wanted to dedicate this dance to my late parents–to show them that I was
doing well, that I was strong, and most importantly…
“I believe in you.”
I poured my heart into the routine, even turning down other gigs to
focu n it.
Day after day, I locked myself in my home studio, obsessively perfecting every detail.
When the routine was finally complete, the only person I
performed it for was Ethan.
He even recorded it on his phone, saying he wanted to watch it
over and over again.
And now, he’d handed this dance–a piece of my soul–to Amber.
How dare he!
Chapter 12
Ethan knew exactly what this dance meant to me, yet he had deliberately handed it over to Amber as her weapon for a
comeback.

It was revolting. Cruel.
Even worse, the show wasn’t live–it had aired last night.
By now, everyone who needed to see it had already seen it.
My hands shook as I opened my phone and checked social
media.
Sure enough, Amber’s reputation had completely turned around.
A well–known choreographer had praised her performance, and
her fans were quick to rally behind her with slogans like “True Lov is Never Wrong.” They flooded my profile with self–righteous
comments.
[Amber already apologized. As a senior in the industry, surely you wouldn’t hold a grudge, right?]
[Amber didn’t do anything wrong! She just met the right person at
the wrong time.]
[Honestly, isn’t part of this Clara’s fault? If she couldn’t keep
Ethan’s heart, who else can she blame?]
[Exactly. Amber’s only crime is being too perfect.]
Amber’s fans were delusional devoid of any moral compass.

Their opinions didn’t matter to me. I only cared about exposing the
truth.
My finger hovered over the “Post” button, but I forced myself to
pause.
If Amber had dared to perform this dance on national television, they must have anticipated my retaliation.
If I acted impulsively, I’d only be walking into their trap.
Or worse this was Ethan’s plan all along, baiting me into making
the first move.
I took a deep breath, texted Julian, and headed to what used to
be my home.
I didn’t expect Ethan to be there at this hour.
But when I opened the door and saw him passionately kissing Amber, I froze.
Ethan pulled back from her with a smirk, deliberately licking his lips. “Didn’t anyone teach you to knock? Just a few days away from me, and you’ve already forgotten your manners?”
I scoffed. “I didn’t expect you, Mr. Ethan Ward, to sink so low as to become a thief so quickly.”
Ethan arched a brow. “So this is about the dance.”

“What else? Did you think I came here to watch you two screw?”
Ethan sighed dramatically. “It’s just a dance, Clara. You can
choreograph a new one. No need to get so worked up. And let’s
not forget–this is your home. No matter how much you rant and
rave, you’ll come back eventually.”
“The moment you brought Amber into this house, it stopped being my home.”
Ethan’s expression faltered. “You knew?”
I glanced at Amber. She looked visibly uneasy.
“Amber gave me a live–streamed performance of your first night together. Tell me, did it thrill you to cheat on me just one floor
above while I was downstairs, burning up with a fever and making
soup for you? It did, right? I heard you say it myself.”
The man who was supposed to be at a business dinner had been
seeking “excitement” right above my head.
