“Dr. Woodson…”
Countless cameras were shoved in my face. The barrage of flashlights brought me back to my previous life when this scene had first played out.
Security arrived quickly, and so did Dr. Samuel Quinn, my colleague.
“Dr. Woodson, I found some allergy meds for you,” he said, his forehead glistening with sweat. “Dr. Caldwell, it’s shocking we’ve run out of basic meds. You really should address. this; if a patient had a sudden reaction, we’d be in trouble. I’ll take over for Dr. Woodson.”
“Dr. Quinn, what are you doing here? Weren’t you on leave today?” Caldwell looked
shocked.
Dr. Quinn was my competitor for the deputy director position, a brilliant doctor. Caldwell had intentionally scheduled him off today to ensure I was alone.
“Director, this patient’s condition is critical. Let’s not worry about the details. Quinn said

“Director, this patient’s condition is critical. Let’s not worry about the details,” Quinn said
calmly.
Meanwhile, Raina Ward, now reaching her limit, didn’t care who delivered her baby. “Doctor, please! I can’t take this anymore!”
i took the medication Quinn handed me. He promptly left to prepare for surgery.
The incident had already gone viral. Outside the hospital, a mob of reporters and bystanders gathered. Some patients at St. Grace Medical Center were even livestreaming
the chaos.
..
Viewers condemned the hospital, with conspiracy theories flooding the internet.
“If it weren’t for Raina, this hospital would’ve kept fooling us all!”
“I’ll never come here again. They’re killing patients for profit.”
“That doctor is heartless. The patient’s in pain, and she just sits there!”
As I sat, detached and scrolling through my phone, Dorothy Rivers sobbed on a nearby
bench. I couldn’t tell if her tears were for Raina’s precarious condition or her failed scheme
to sabotage me with the shrimp and grits.
Ethan Rivers glared at me, his anger barely contained.
“Nina, I know you’re jealous of Raina because you can’t have kids. But how could you so cruel, pretending to have an allergic reaction to avoid helping her?”

It was clear Ethan had concocted a new narrative to frame me. With Raina unable to stream from the operating room, he had taken over, broadcasting every moment, primarily to monitor me.
As expected, the viewers exploded in outrage.
“What? Dr. Woodson can’t have children?”
“And she’s an OB–GYN? What a joke!”

“God, do you think she’s really jealous of Raina?”
“Good thing she’s not delivering the baby. Who knows what could’ve happened?”
“As long as she works there, I’m never coming back to that hospital.”
I had anticipated Ethan’s move and opened my phone to pull up a document. With a cold smile, I said, “Ethan, let me set the record straight. The one who can’t have children… is
you!”
“What did you just say?” His face darkened.
“You’re lying!” Dorothy chimed in, equally livid.
