Both Dorothy and Ethan spoke at once, their voices rising in panic.
“Back then, the hospital mixed up the names on the test results,” I said coolly. “I thought it wasn’t worth the hassle to correct it. Ethan, you said you wouldn’t care, that you didn’t ever like kids. Over time, I let it go because I just wanted a peaceful life.”
Dorothy lunged at me, her hand raised to slap me. “How dare you lie about my son like that! He’s perfectly capable of having children!”
I caught her wrist mid–air. “Oh, Dorothy, not only do I know your son is infertile, but I also know about him and Raina.”
I let go of her wrist and took a step toward Ethan, my voice sharp and unwavering. “You and Raina aren’t real siblings, are you? You told me some nonsense about one of you taking your father’s last name and the other taking your mother’s. It was all a lie, wasn’t it? You’ve known each other for years. Let me guess: your ‘little brother‘ is actually the child you and Raina had together, isn’t he?”
The livestream comments went wild.
“This woman is insane!”
“This sounds like some soap opera plot.”
“Wait… if it’s true, Ethan and Raina are monsters.”
Dorothy seized on my last remark.
“See! Ethan has a child! That proves he can have kids!”
“Mom!” Ethan’s face turned pale as he realized Dorothy had fallen into my trap. He still didn’t believe his infertility, but doubt began creeping into his mind.
“Ethan,” I said, my tone almost pitying. “You’ve raised a child thinking he was your brother. Now you’re being duped into thinking this second baby is yours. Do you really believe Raina’s 27–week pregnancy story? Anyone with half a brain wouldn’t buy it.”

“Ethan,” I said, my tone almost pitying. “You’ve raised a child thinking he was your brother. Now you’re being duped into thinking this second baby is yours. Do you really believe Raina’s 27–week pregnancy story? Anyone with half a brain wouldn’t buy it.”
“Shut up!” Ethan’s voice shook with fury, but his thoughts raced.
He began piecing things together: why Raina insisted he be gentler with her, why her belly had grown so fast. He had never questioned it, assuming she’d simply been
overeating.
Dorothy, now seeing the doubt on her son’s face, turned her anger toward Raina.
The operating room lights turned off just then.
Dr. Samuel Quinn stepped out, mask still in place, his expression heavy.
“I’m sorry,” he said solemnly. “The baby didn’t make it.”
The room went silent.
Dr. Caldwell broke the stillness, storming up to Dr. Quinn. “Where’s the baby? I’m asking you–where is the baby?”
“I’m sorry, Director.” Quinn bowed his head.
I stepped in.
“Dr. Quinn, you did everything you could. This baby was never going to survive.”
Quinn turned to me, stunned.
Raina was wheeled out of the operating room, crying hysterically.
“Ethan, I’m sorry. I couldn’t save our baby,” she sobbed.
Ethan said nothing.
Raina struggled to sit up and reached for him. “Ethan, don’t blame Nina. It’s my fault. I wasn’t strong enough to protect our baby.”

“Let go of me.” Ethan yanked his arm away, and Raina fell to the floor.

She looked up at him, tears streaming. “What’s wrong, Ethan? What did I do wrong?”
Ethan didn’t help her up. Instead, Dr. Caldwell stepped forward, lifting her and glaring at Ethan. “What’s the meaning of this?”
Ethan sneered. “What I do with my woman is none of your business.”
Dr. Caldwell was speechless.
I laughed coldly. “Shall I answer that for you? Director, aren’t you the baby’s real father?”
“What?!”
Reporters who had sneaked into the hospital surrounded us.
“Dr. Woodson, care to explain what you just said?”
I held up my phone to the cameras. “This is the DNA test result for Raina’s first child. It proves without a doubt that Dr. Caldwell is the father.”
The reporters and viewers were stunned.
“Are you kidding me? The hospital director and Raina?”
“This is insane. This drama is wilder than TV!
“Influencers are all messy. Raina’s no exception.”
“I don’t believe it. She’s just jealous of Raina!
“Jealous? Did you see Ethan’s face? That DNA test must be reall”
