I remember my first shift 5

Many people were willing to pay a handsome sum for Blake’s notesthey weren’t easy to find, yet I’d gotten a bag full of them without even knowing it! I couldn’t believe Mr. Stone was Blake’s father

Lila hadn’t gotten these notes in her past life, yet I’d gotten them because of my kindness

My shock grew as I went through the rest of the notes They were neatly labeled and arranged by subject and difficulty. This was a priceless treasure that had been bestowed upon me without me even realizing it

I called Mr. Stone with trembling hands. Why didn’t you mention that your son was the legendary Blake Stone, Mr. Stone?”

He laughed on the other end of the line. Then, he said You saved my life, Holly. Giving you his notes is the least I can doI can even make him tutor you privately!”

I laughed, thinking he was just joking. Blake was probably busy doing experiments at the country’s best college. How could he have time to tutor a nobody like me

However, one day, a tall figure appeared at my school, attracting everyone’s attention. I immediately recognized him as Blake. He’d been featured on the school’s list of outstanding alumni, and his appearance had caught my attention countless times

He approached me without hesitation. Only then did I realize how long his lashes were. They accentuated his bright eyes

It turned out Mr. Stone hadn’t been joking. He’d actually sent Blake to tutor me

I later learned that Blake had taken a gap year to care for Mr. Stone due to the injuries he’d sustained during the earthquake. That meant Blake would tutor me privately for a whole year before I sat for my SATS

He prepared a customized study plan for me. I would wake up early every morning for a short round of revision. Then, after school, he would go through some questions with me. Lastly, I would have to do some questions he set for me

Every second of my day was used to squeeze my brain chockfull of knowledge. In the past, my grades had been held back by limited resources and revision methods
