I remember my first shift 7

I’d heard about Wanda, the CEO of Lawson Group, attending the welcoming ceremony before the semester started. That was why I’d participated in the selection for the freshman representative

I knew Lila was only a figurehead heiress. This meant Wanda needed someone to actually take over for her. Where better to search for someone like that than the country’s top college

This welcoming ceremony was my chance. I had to make myself stand out and catch Wanda’s attention. I needed to pique her interest in me. It was the only way for me to get revenge on her for the things she’d done to me in my past life

As expected, my performance during the welcoming ceremony caught Wanda’s attention. It was far from enough, though

Before the ceremony ended, Lila stormed over to me and forced through gritted teeth, You’re just a dumb freshman representative. What’s there to be so smug about? I’m the Lawson family’s sole heiress -you can work hard for the rest of your life, but you’ll never catch up with me!”

She was right. Being a freshman representative for the nation’s top college wasn’t a big deal. However, it was a stepping stone for me to attain greater heights

After studying like normal for half a semester, Blake called me. He’d just started his internship at Lawson Group and needed me to bring him a document he’d left in the lab

I didn’t immediately leave after dropping off the document. Instead, I accidentallystumbled into a conference room, showing myself before Wanda

After leaving the conference room, I counted down in my heart. A few minutes later, an intern ran into me in the corridor

Her face was red, and she helped me to my feet, looking panicked. She suddenly exploded at the sight of the documents scattered on the floor, bursting into tears

I helped her to another room and listened as she vented her frustrations and stress over her work. Then, she said in despair, My superior keeps picking on me. He said he would fire me if I can’t give him a new proposal by today. How am I going to survive in this city without a job?”

I raised an eyebrow when I saw that she was about to cry again. I asked her to show me what she already had. She did as told, albeit warily
