Ethan was scared.
The next morning, I was awakened by a call from him at my parents‘ place.
“What do you want?”
“I know you’ve come back, haven’t you?”
I held the phone, amused by Ethan’s threatening tone.
He continued, “You better keep quiet, or I can harm you once, and I can do it again!”
“Ethan, do you think I’m still the pushover I was in my past life? Your threats might work on others, but not on me!”
Ethan shouted on the other end, “Don’t make this difficult! Those so–called evidences you have are worthless. I can easily dismiss them.”
“Really? Go ahead and try. I have proof of your affair and your shady dealings at the company. What do you think will happen if they come to
light?”

Ethan hesitated, a hint of panic in his voice.
“You’re bluffing. How could you have those?”
“Don’t forget, I didn’t spend all those years by your side for nothing.”
With that, I hung up without hesitation.
Soon after, the doorbell rang urgently.
I opened the door to find Ethan and my sister–in–law standing there.
Ethan was furious, while my sister–in–law looked terrified and anxious.
“What are you planning to do with this?” Ethan demanded as he stormed in.
I looked at them calmly. “That depends on your attitude. If you stay stubborn, just wait for tomorrow’s headlines.”
My sister–in–law suddenly fell to her knees, crying, “Sister–in–law, I’m sorry. Please forgive us. I realize my mistakes!”
Ethan gritted his teeth and lowered his head, “I’m sorry. I’ve wronged you and your daughter.”
There was no satisfaction in my heart, only endless sorrow.
I pretended to forgive them.
I knew it wasn’t time to sever ties completely yet.
Cornering them could put my daughter in danger.
Rather than dealing with them directly, I preferred to watch them turn against each other.
I lifted my head, feigning magnanimity as I looked at my kneeling sister–in–law and the resentful Ethan.
“Fine, since you’ve admitted your mistakes, I won’t push things too far.”
My sister–in–law clung to my words like a lifeline.
“Sister–in–law, you’re so generous. I’ll be a better person from now on. I won’t dare again.”
“Really? Should I trust you?”
Ethan quickly echoed her words, but I caught a flash of malice in his eyes.
I smiled and nodded, “Since we’ve cleared things up, you should leave. I need some time alone.”
Ethan and my sister–in–law exchanged a glance.
They seemed surprised at how easily I gave in.
After they left, I immediately contacted Liam Parker.
“Liam, I found some crucial evidence. My sister–in–law forged the paternity test, which proves she intentionally framed my daughter and me.”
I explained the situation to Liam.
He was thrilled, saying this evidence would give us a significant advantage in the upcoming battle.
In the following days, I outwardly maintained ‘peace‘ with Ethan’s family.
At the Fu family, I subtly stirred the pot, driving a wedge between Ethan and my sister–in–law.
