Chapter 2
After leaving the bar, Jenna went to the hospital to treat her wound.
Once home, she cleared out all the things related to Charlie, sealing them in a box.
When Mr.Hall and Mrs.Hall, came back and saw this, they were momentarily stunned.
“Jenna, have you really let go of Charlie? You no longer like him?”
Secing her
nod without hesitation, Mr.Hall and Mrs.Hall sighed in relief. Smiling, they spoke, “That’s good. Chad is busy abroad, but today the Spencer family and we had a video call to finalize the marriage.”
“Compared to Charlie, Chad is more steady and dignified, and he’s certainly more suitable for you. Although he has
a higher status, we never expected him to agree. We thought he wouldn’t, but he agreed quickly.”
Jenna’s eyes reddened in an instant.
When she had made up her mind to go ahead with the marriage, she had known that Chad would agree..
In her past life, due to their differing social statuses, everyone from the prominent families feared him, including Jenna. Therefore, they rarely interacted except at family gatherings.
She knew only that he was dedicated to his work, building a towering business empire, and had never married.
-It wasn’t until he was thirty–five that he committed suicide, and it was only when sorting through his belongings that
she discovered a stack of love letters in his bedroom.
Every letter was addressed to “The Star.”
The Spencer family had no idea to whom these letters were meant.
Only Jenna knew–she was born on a night filled with stars. The name “Star” symbolized “Jenna Star,” a nickname given to her by the family’s closest elder.
She never knew that this distant, indifferent, unapproachable man had secretly loved her for an entire lifetime.
Now, with a second chance at life, she was willing to give both of them the opportunity they had missed before.
Lost in thought, Mr.Hall and Mrs.Hall presented a gift box, placing it in front of her with satisfaction in their voices.
“Jenna, tomorrow is your birthday. Chad can’t make it back, but he had his assistant take a gift from the study. Take a look and see if you like it.”
When she opened it, Jenna saw a dazzling diamond ring.
was then It was the most expensive diamond ring ever auctioned at Sotheby’s in nearly fifty years, named “Pick the Star.”
She had once seen it before, and it was unforgettable.
To think that Chad had sent such a priceless gift–it warmed her heart in that moment.
In her previous life, ever since the news of their marriage alliance spread, Charlie hadn’t given her any gifts.
She had long forgotten what it felt like to receive a gift from the person she loved.
The next day, at 7 PM. the grand birthday banquet for the Hall family’s eldest daughter began on time in the most. luxurious hotel.
A crowd of guests offered their blessings, and with the marriage alliance now settled, Jenna finally felt a sense of relief, her face showing a bright smile.
But halfway through the evening, a commotion arose among the crowd, and everyone turned to look at the door.
Jenna followed their gaze and saw that Charlie had actually brought Xena to her birthday banquet.
But that wasn’t the most humiliating part. The most humiliating thing was that Charlie’s group of brothers were carrying a huge plaque toward her.
In the center of the plaque were four bold characters-“Act Improperly, Play Righteous“-with the inscription:
For: Jenna.
The guests pressed forward, craning their necks to get a better look, whispering and gossiping.
Jenna’s face turned pale.
She clenched her fists tightly, her gaze cold as she stared at the group causing the ruckus.
“What do you mean by this?”
The brothers sneered, deliberately shouting in exaggerated voices.
“Don’t you know the answer yourself? Didn’t you say yesterday that Charlie isn’t the groom?
Then why, when he got home, did he find that the wedding preparations were already underway? This game of cat and mouse, no one plays it better than you, Jenna. These words are a perfect fit!”
“I told you she was just putting on a tough act! She’s chased after Charlie for so many years, and who doesn’t know she’s been desperate to the point of throwing away her self–respect?
Now, suddenly, she says she doesn’t love him and doesn’t want to marry him? It’s just a delaying tactic! The only person from the Spencer family who’s of her rank is Charlie. If she doesn’t marry him, who else can she marry?”
Laughter erupted throughout the hall.
Charlie, with a cold face, turned to look at her.
“Jenna, stop pretending. Don’t think you can attract my attention by doing this. After we get married, the only thing you’ll get from me is the title of Mrs. Spencer. As for everything else, you’ll get nothing”

Chapter 2
Jenna had heard these words in her past life.
He wasn’t lying.
Seven years of marriage, and apart from the title, she truly had nothing.
The guests around them began whispering and gossiping again, and Jenna took a deep breath, her voice rising.
“Charlie! I don’t need your title. Listen carefully–I’m not marrying you. My marriage partner isn’t you, nor anyone.
of your generation. It’s your…”
Before she could finish, an unexpected interruption came.
Xena suddenly covered her nose and mouth, her face breaking out in red rashes, her eyes red as she collapsed into
Charlie’s arms.
“Master. I… I heard there are hyacinths here. I’m allergic to hyacinths! It’s so itchy!”
Hyacinths were Jenna’s favorite flowers, so they were placed everywhere in the hall.
Hearing Xena’s increasingly rapid breaths in his arms, Charlie’s face became urgent. He kept calling Xena’s name, then suddenly picked her up and rushed out.
Leaving only two final words behind.
One for her: “Jenna, after we’re married, you’re not allowed to plant or display any hyacinths anywhere!”
One for his brothers: “After I leave, destroy this banquet hall!”
“Got it, bro! We’ll handle it!”
Before the words even ended, the group, like a gang of bandits, began toppling tables and smashing everything in
sight.
The birthday cake was smeared across the floor, wine glasses and plates shattered, and flowers were trampled into the mud by fleeing guests
“Stop! Why are you destroying my birthday banquet? Stop!”
“You’re going to marry Spencer soon. As a wife, of course, you have to follow his wishes. Whatever Spencer says, goes! Hahahaha!”
Jenna’s throat went hoarse from shouting, but she couldn’t stop the chaos. Instead, she was met with endless laughter and mockery.
In the end, the guests all left, and her birthday came to an end amid the wreckage.
It was a disaster.
