Chapter 21
As she pulled her hand away, the small motion stirred the person sleeping next to her. Chad groggily opened his eyes, his voice thick with sleep.
“Did you have a nightmare?”
Jenna didn’t want to worry him, so she gently shook her head.
“It’s just a little warm. Let me adjust the air conditioning. Go back to sleep, it’s still early.”
He murmured an acknowledgment, and soon, he fell back into a deep sleep.
But Jenna couldn’t calm her mind.
She replayed the scenes from the dream over and over in her head, but the memories were slipping away too quickly. By the time morning came, the only thing she could clearly remember was the necklace.
The necklace, the necklace…
What did it mean?
Without realizing it, Jenna’s hand instinctively went to her neck.
But there was nothing there.
The empty feeling sent a chill down her spine. Suddenly, an old memory surfaced in her mind.
The reason she had returned the necklace to Charlie was because Xena had set her eyes on it!
Xena, so jealous of everything in her life, must have wanted to take everything she had–this necklace included.
Charlie had clutched that very necklace in his hand before he died. Could it be that he was trying to tell her that Xena was the one who killed him?
As soon as she realized this, a cold shiver ran through her body.
All the things that had confused her for so long suddenly clicked into place.
In the previous life, Xena had been with Charlie. She had tried to become Mrs. Spencer, but there were two huge obstacles in her way.
One was Jenna and Luna, and the other was Chad.
One held the title of Charlie’s wife and daughter, while the other controlled the entire Spencer family’s power.
So, Xena had resorted to extreme measures–she created car accidents and kidnappings to remove both obstacles.
But in this life, Jenna had seized the initiative, changing the course of the story.

Chapter 21
Xena, now twenty–seven, had lost both of her parents, spent six years in prison, and was left with nothing.
Given her nature, there was no doubt she would seek revenge.
Now that Charlie was dead, she would turn her attention to Jenna, Chad, and their children.
And today, of all days, was December 7th.
Everything was falling into place, just as it had in the previous life.
It was all a conspiracy.
With this realization, Jenna immediately shook Chad awake and urged him to get up quickly.
Chad, who had just gotten comfortable, was dragged to the police station.
The couple met with the police officer handling the car accident case, and Jenna mentioned the necklace.
The police acted quickly on the lead, tracking down Xena’s whereabouts.
After spending the entire day at home with the two children, the couple finally received a call from the police in the evening.
“Mrs. Hall, based on the information you provided, we successfully apprehended Xena and her accomplices outside the kindergarten. She has confessed to her involvement in the crime.”
Hearing the news, the heavy weight pressing on Jenna’s chest instantly lifted.
The two little girls, who had been watching her closely, finally dared to run into her arms, feeling the relief in her
expression.
“Mommy, I’m hungry. I want sweet and sour ribs!”
Don’t make ribs for my sister. Her tooth fell out yesterday, she can’t eat them. Can we have shrimp instead?”
Always thinking about food.
Jenna rolled her eyes and reached over to nudge Chad. She tilted her chin toward the kitchen.
“The kids are hungry. Aren’t you going to do something about it?”
Chad stood up dutifully, but before he could take a step, the two little girls grabbed onto him.
“If Daddy cooks, let’s eat out instead!”
“We can ask cooking nanny to cook, but I’m not eating Daddy’s food. It’s always so salty!”
The sound of their laughter and bickering echoed through the home, gradually blending with the warmth of the lights outside.
Tonight, the mountains stood far and quiet, the clouds drifted softly.
