Chapter 7
The next morning at ten o’clock, the Spencer family’s wedding procession arrived at the Hall family home, followed by a camera crew.
The grand marriage alliance between the two powerful families was going to be broadcast live to the entire city.
Charlie opened the car door and went upstairs. When he saw Jenna in her white wedding gown, a flicker of astonishment passed through his eyes.
For some reason, he felt like he had seen this scene before, as if he had experienced it in a dream. He stood still for a moment, lost in a trance.
It wasn’t until someone beside him reminded him that he stretched out his hand to her.
But Jenna didn’t take his hand. Her expression was calm, and her voice was cool. “Charlie, you’re in the place. You should be sitting with the guests.”
Her words immediately angered Charlie, and his face darkened in an instant.

“Here we go again? Don’t you know this wedding is being broadcast live? Do you have to make a scene and embarrass both families?”
Jenna didn’t respond, simply lifting her gown and walking downstairs alone.
Charlie’s hand, still empty, clenched into a fist.
He took a deep breath, forcing himself to suppress his emotions, and followed her down the stairs.
Just as he was about to get into the wedding car, his phone rang.
A minute later, he closed the car door and looked at Jenna sitting inside.
“I have something very important to attend to, so I can’t make it to the wedding. Go ahead and inform the elders from both sides. The wedding is canceled.”
He expected Jenna to be upset, to feel embarrassed, and maybe even cry, but she just looked at him calmly.
“I told you before, whether you come or not, it doesn’t matter.”
Because the groom is not you.
Seeing her indifferent attitude, Charlie felt a momentary panic, but he still forced his voice to stay steady. “I said, cancel the wedding! If I’m not showing up as the groom, do you really want to make a fool of yourself in front of the entire city?”
This time, Jenna didn’t even bother responding. She simply turned to the driver and ordered, “Drive.”
Soon, the procession of cars began to leave the scene.

Chapter 7
Charlie had no time to deal with her childish behavior. He flagged down a car by the side of the road and left in a
hurry.
When he arrived at the resort on the outskirts, he found Xena surrounded by a group of his brothers. His eyebrows immediately knitted in confusion.
“I thought Xena was in danger?”
One of the brothers grabbed him and dragged him inside, laughing.
“We were just messing with you! You wouldn’t have run off like that if we didn’t make it sound serious!”
“We just wanted to see what kind of mess Jenna would cause today!”
Hearing this, Charlie’s expression changed drastically, and he pushed the hands off his shoulders, turning to leave in a hurry.
“This is ridiculous!”
Xena grabbed his arm, her eyes red as she blinked up at him with a pleading gaze.
“Charlie, my head really hurts. Can you stay with me for a bit? It’s so far from the wedding site anyway, you won’t
make it in time.”
It was true; the wedding was far enough away, but Jenna…
As Charlie hesitated, his brothers had already started setting up a live stream.
The scene on the screen was moving forward in an orderly fashion.
Seeing that Jenna refused to cancel the wedding, everyone sneered.
‘Are you seriously not stopping this? There’s no groom! How embarrassing!”
“Jenna is so desperate to get married. She’s playing with the reputations of both families. This is going to be a huge joke when it all falls apart!”
Charlie, unable to understand what Jenna was thinking, felt a surge of anger well up inside him. His face darkened, his temper flaring.
Just as he was about to call someone from the Spencer family to notify them of the situation, a sudden shout broke
the tension.
“The wedding has begun!”
Charlie instinctively looked up and saw Jenna standing in the center of the stage, her father holding her arm as they made their way to the altar.
She stood alone under the spotlight for a long time, and still, no groom appeared.

The comments in the live stream flooded the screen with question marks and the words “Has the groom run away?” filling the feed.
In the room, the onlookers were laughing so hard that they could barely sit up straight.
Charlie had expected this, but the sight still left him seething. Ilis voice was low and full of anger.
“Stupid.”
Unable to watch any longer, he reached to close the live stream, but just as his finger hovered over the exit button,
he heard the host’s voice.
“The groom is here!”
In the next moment, the heavy doors of the venue slowly creaked open!
