Chapter 9
I closed my eyes, feeling mixed emotions.
The sweetness and pain of the past intertwined together almost suffocated me.
But in the end, I opened my eyes and became clear–headed.
“Oscar, there is no ifs in life, and there is no do–over. We have all made our choices, and we must be responsible for our decisions. I hope you can find the happiness that truly belongs to you instead of lingering with me.”
Hearing this, Oscar became even more panicked.
“No… Bella, we’ve been together for four years, and how could you just let it go… After you left, I realized that the person I loved was you all along.
“Bella, don’t lie to me, an
and don’t lie to yourself. You love me, right? Don’t marry him. Come with me, okay…”
His eyes were slightly red, and there was a hint of begging in his
tone.
I looked at Oscar quietly, without any ripples in my heart.
“Mr. Wellington, please let go!” I frowned slightly and tried to break free from his hand, but he held it even tighter.
At this moment, a tall figure suddenly stood in front of me.
“She said let go, and don’t you understand?”
Raymond shook off Oscar’s hand with a gloomy look on his face, his breath oppressive.
They looked at each other with an arrogant momentum.
Raymond looked at me with concern. “Bella, are you okay?”
I shook my head and gently squeezed his hand.
Then, he smiled at me and tried to comfort me.
Raymond looked at Oscar with a look of oppression.
“Sir, please leave while I still have my sanity!”
Finishing saying that, Raymond took me in his arms and turned to leave.
“Do
you know that she has slept with me for four years? Do you want her too?” Oscar roared in anger.
I was stunned and subconsciously wanted to refute it.
However, I was pulled back by Raymond.
He patted my hands gently, looked at Oscar, and said word by word, “Everyone has a past. It’s not her fault that she met the

wrong person. What I want to do is to make sure she doesn’t regret marrying me.
“Besides, Bella is very good, and she deserves it! As for you, you are like the trash and should be in the trash can! If you dare to appear in front of Bella again, I will not be polite to you!”
Saying that, without waiting for Oscar’s response, Raymond took me in his arms and left.
I clenched my hands tightly, a warm feeling inexplicably surged in my heart, and I spoke stiffly.
“Raymond, I…”
“You don’t have to say anything.”
He gently pressed against my lips, his face full of heartache, and said in a gentle voice, “I care about you, not your past.”
I was instantly moved, my heart filled with grievances, and I couldn’t help but cry.
Seeing me crying, Raymond panicked.
He looked into my eyes gently with a sincere expression.
“Believe me, and I will make you happy.”
On the wedding day, I wore a custom–made wedding dress and looked like a princess in a fairy tale.
Raymond was wearing a neat suit and looked extremely handsome.
With the witness of our relatives and friends, we made a vow to stay together for life.
Our married life was peaceful and happy.
Raymond and I ran the family business together, and at the same time, we enjoyed our own happiness.
Occasionally, I would think of Oscar, but there was no longer any ripple in my heart.
A year later, I gave birth to the child of our love.
At my child’s birth banquet, I received an unfamiliar transfer.
There were four more words together. [I wish you happiness.]
I knew who it was, so I silently returned the money to Oscar and him two words. [Look forward.]

Oscar smiled bitterly and finally nodded slowly, “Okay, I understand. I wish you happiness, Bella.”
Oscar was like an episode in my life. Although it was once unforgettable, it would eventually return to peace.
Not disturbing was the best outcome for him and me.
Time was the best medicine. It had taught me to let go and to

cherish.
