Chapter 14
It was an opportunity she couldn’t afford to miss-
At three in the afternoon. Eleanor appeared in a stunning white dress, flanked by her security team. As she gracefully ascended the steps, she turned to face the sea of reporters, their questions flooding the air.
“Eleanor, you’re trending mumber one online. Are you buying followers?“”
“Eleanor, you and Celeste are both models for Heavens Arts, but it’s been Celeste in the spotlight. Do you feel sidelined by the agency due to her rising fame?” “Eleanor, is this all just a publicity stunt?”
Amid the chaotic barrage of questions, her team stepped in to restore order, finally giving Eleanor a moment to speak.
“First, I want to apologize to the public for the damage I have caused to the agency’s reputation and for the conjectures surrounding Miss Celeste.”
“The recent show for Crown Star Guild was something I decided on my own, and I did so without informing my agency or Miss Celeste, so none of this can be blamed on them
“… am indeed seeking attention. However, my manager was completely unaware; she was merely a pawn in my scheme. I will take full responsibility for my actions. Thank you for your scrutiny, and thank you all.”
Her confession hung in the air, shocking everyone….
Reporters stirred restlessly, caught off guard. No celebrity had ever confessed their faults so candidly. While most artists would rush to dissociate themselves from any blame, Eleanor owned her mistakes, distancing herself from her manager and the agency, placing all the responsibility squarely on her own shoulders.
Eleanor hoped that was the end of it, but she hadn’t anticipated Percival’s next move. To solidify suspicions about her intentions, Percival, the artistic director, deliberately approached her. Facing the media, he announced, “This isn’t the first incident like this. However, we’re willing to give you one last chance, Eleanor. We hope you’ll lear from this and focus on being a model.”
The implication that this was a recurring issue was clear; he aimed to undermine the statement that Seraphina had issued on her behalf, accusing her of using Celeste’s runway appearances for her own self–promotion.
“Percival, you are ruthless,” Eleanor thought bitterly.
Silent, she bowed deeply to the media and made her exit, flanked by her team.
With her departure, online discussions erupted in outrage. Eleanor’s forthright admission had made her an easy target. The public, accustomed to seeing only the surface. was furious. Even within the agency, her situation became fodder for jokes.
After finishing a meeting, Victor heard the chatter and turned to his assistant with a puzzled look. The assistant quietly filled him in on Eleanne’s press conference and the ensuing chaos, “Sir, should we take measures to help Miss Eleanor?”
“Let’s hold off for now. I want to see how she handles this,” Victor replied softly. He’d been curious about Eleaner’s reaction–after intervening for her twice before, he was eager to witness her true capabilities.
His wife truly had the potential to rise above these games.
