However, Mark was not willing to give up and came to the pet store every day.
He bought a cat, and then brought a bouquet of fresh flowers to the store every day. After leaving the flowers at the front desk, he would use this as an excuse to buy toys and cat food, pretending he didn’t know anything and coming to ask me questions every day.
Looking at the increasing number of flowers in the store, I was so annoyed that I simply took a short vacation from the boss and escaped.
I heard from the boss that Mark was not discouraged. Every day, he would either buy milk tea or cakes, just to please the boss and other employees. He would even buy cat food and canned food by the dozen.
The boss joked: “He completed my annual sales target in three days.”
I couldn’t stand it anymore and pulled Mark out of the blacklist:
“If you continue to disturb my life, I will call the police.”
He didn’t think I would be moved by these little gestures, did he?
I’m not a young girl anymore. I don’t care for this kind of cheap effort and belated affection.
My words made Mark very unwilling. He actually had the ability to find my brother’s house and blocked me at the entrance of the community that day.
At the busy intersection, Mark knelt on one knee holding a large bouquet of roses, using a loudspeaker to shout:
“Miss Rachel, I was wrong! Please forgive me and come home with me!”
My brother was so angry that he rolled up his sleeves, ready to rush over and beat him up, but was held back by my sister–in–law.
Instead, it was my little nephew who, while we weren’t paying attention, went up and pointed at his nose, scolding: “You heartless man, finding a mistress, bullying my aunt, leaving my aunt in the hospital to die!”
“You even kicked my aunt out of the company for the mistress, you’re a bad person!”
The child’s words immediately caused the surrounding onlookers to discuss, and Mark’s face instantly turned black.
I quickly went to pick up my little nephew, but before I could say anything, a woman holding her belly and supporting her waist squeezed out from the crowd.
“Mark! Are you abandoning me and the child?”
It was Olivia.
Mark turned to look, his face flashing with panic.
“Mark, let’s go back. The company can’t do without you, and the child and I can’t do without you either.”
Olivia glanced at me, her eyes venomous, but she quickly concealed it, lowering her head and eyes to pull Mark’s sleeve.
I sneered and said: “Mr. Mark, since you have a child, just live your life properly. I don’t have the habit of picking up trash again.”
Saying this, I hugged my little nephew and left the crowd. My brother and sister–in–law quickly came to meet us, disappeared from everyone’s sight.
Mark eventually went back with her.
and our family of four slowly
I heard from colleagues that he and Olivia got their marriage certificate, but on the day the child was born, they had a big fight, and he abandoned her in the hospital, disappearing without a trace.
My colleague gloated: “You don’t know, that child was born with dark skin, obviously a foreigner. Who knows where Olivia found the seed…”
I didn’t have the mood to continue paying attention to their trivial matters.
I’ve been very busy lately because the boss thought it was a waste of my talent to just stay in one store. He directly opened a branch and made me the manager, throwing all the work at me and not caring anymore.
But the monthly dividends could make me wake up smiling every day.
My life is thriving, and there’s really no need to waste it on these rotten people and things.
What does their ending have to do with me?
