Chapter 14
He was coming in!
Evelyn had already heard footsteps coming from the door. As it got closer, her heart beat harder with every step, urging her to find
somewhere to hide.
She tried her best to calm herself down. When she looked up again, she was ready to meet Dermot face–to–face.
However, there was only Bruce in front of her.
Where was Dermet?
Why was he not here? Was he behind?
Evelyn craned her neck to look behind Bruce, but there was still no one there.
“Where is Dermot? Randy’s expression was dark. Seeing that only Bruc came in, he already had a bad feeling.
“Mr. Dermot said that something urgent came up. He will come to see you later. There was nothing Bruce could do as Dermot uttered the words and took off before Bruce could stop him.
“Bastard!”
Randy was so angry that he slammed his cane on the ground. “Why he can’t finish the dinner with us first? He just wants to piss me off!”
“Randy, don’t be angry. Think of your health.” Evelyn comforted him. Knowing that Dermot was gone, Evelyn was relieved instead
When Dermot arrived at the Ackers house, Marcel and Allyson Ackers, Cassie’s parents, were taking care of her in her room. Once Dermot showed up, they quickly left the room, leaving space for the two of there.
“Mrs. Ackers called and said that you weren’t feeling well. What’s wrong Why don’t you go to the hospital?” Dermot asked.
“It’s okay. Mom is overreacting” Cassie was a little embarrassed and sold, “Dermot, sorry for this trip. It’s all my fault.”
“I promised Leonard to take good care of you. There’s no need to say sorry.” He stared at Cassie. “Are you sure you’re good? Maybe we should take you to the hospital just to be sure.”
“I’m really fine. I know my own condition.” Cassie shook her head and filt a little guilty.
“If you say so, I should go. Grandpa is still waiting for me for dinner. Dermot turned around to leave.
“Dermot!”
Cassie stopped him, her eyes turning red–rimmed. “If it wasn’t for Leonard, would you still take care of me?
Dermot looked at her in silence for a while and said, “Focus on getting etter. Don’t think about other things.”
“Dermat, 1…”
“Okay, I’m going back. Take a good rest. He left the rooms swiftly, not ging her a chance to stop him again.
Downstairs, Marcel and Allyson felt uneasy as Dermot exited Cassie’s room so soon. “Dermot, why don’t you stay with Cassie for a while longer? She’s been talking about you all the time.”

Chapter 14
Dermot glanced at them indifferently as if he could see through them
Take good care of Cassie. If something happens to her, the Ackers family will no longer exist. Do you understand?” he said caldy,
When Leonard died, he only asked Dermot to take care of Cassie. He didn’t say anything bout these two.
Marcel nodded repeatedly, understanding the meaning of Dermot’s words. “We will take good care of Cassie.”
“Good.” Dermot got up and was about to leave.
“What about the cooperation?” Marcel gritted his teeth and hurriedly jaid.
Dermot walked out and said, “Someone will deliver the contract tomorrow.”
“Okay, we will definitely not let you down,” Marcel smiled happily, and so did Allyson beside him.
But Cassie merely stood on the second floor with a cold face and glanced at her parents complainingly. “Why did you ask Dermot for a contract again? Didn’t he give you enough?”
“You know nothing. The benefit of continuous cooperation is better than a one–time buyout. As long as we cooperate with the Doyle Group. We will earn a lot of money in the future. Marcel glanced at her and felt that Cassie was not smart at all.
Angly tears welled up in Cassies eyes. “Have you ever thought about how I can hold my head up in front of Dermot?”
