Chapter 18
Miranda and I were only helping each other out because we were classmates and she was a girl. I helped her a few times.
“Other than that, I never thought about it again.”
Trevor sighed and gazed wistfully at the horizon in the distance.
But he didn’t know why it ended up like this in the end.
Ronald smiled and shook his head, “Senior brother, are you clueless or pretending to be ignorant?”
“You and your junior sister have long forgotten the boundaries between men and women You share every detail of your life every day and have meals alone together. Isn’t that something only boyfriends and girlfriends can do?”
His words were like a thunderbolt, instantly causing Trevor’s eyes to see stars.
His eyes flickered as he tried to find an excuse to explain, but when he opened his mouth, he couldn’t say anything.
Ronald did not speak again, but quietly left after finishing his meal.
They were roommates when he and Trevor were in college, and they witnessed firsthand his journey from meeting, Jocelynn to falling in love and to the present.
At first, he thought they were just playing around and that they wouldn’t last long before breaking up. However, he didn’t expect that they would end up being together for four years.
Even a year ago, Trevor said that he would get married once Jocelynn graduated.
He thought he would be the witness of their love, but he didn’t expect to witness the process of love turning from a small boat into a
giant ship and slowly fading away.
During graduation season, and breakup season, Trevor and Jocelynn ultimately did not escape either.
Trevor stared at the distant horizon, trying his best to hold back his tears.
He repented in his heart, “Baby, this time I know I was wrong”
Where should he go to seek her forgiveness?
He sat for a long time before he left.
In the afternoon experiment, Trevor still made frequent mistakes, but compared to the morning, he had improved a lot. When he was leaving, he called out to Miranda.
“Miranda, wait a moment.”
Miranda saw him take the initiative to call her, and for a moment, she had many thoughts in her mind.
Is he going to confess his feelings to himself? Is he deciding to let go of Jocelynn and be with himself? Or is he going to apologize to his past self?
She looked at Trevor excitedly, with a smile on her face.
After everyone in the laboratory had left, Trevor spoke up, “I think it’s time we clarified our relationship.”
Miranda’s heart was beating fast, she could hardly wait any longer.
She wanted to immediately say, “I promise.”
But in the next instant, her heart plummeted to the bottom of the valley.
“I have always regarded you as a simple friendship of classmates. The one I have liked all along is Jocelynn. If there was any behavior
of mine that made you misunderstand before, I apologize.”
Trevor spoke solemnly, word by word.
Miranda stood frozen in place, looking at him in disbelief.
what did you s
you say?
“What…wat
Trevor repeated the words he had just said, and she immediately changed her expression.
“So you never liked me, did you?
Trevor nodded.
Miranda asked, “So, what were those things you did before?”
What are all those things? The caring inquiries, the gifts bought while queuing, the breakfasts delivered early in the morning.
Trevor only said, “I helped you simply because you were one of the few girls on the team, and I considered you my junior sister due to your young age.”
“But I didn’t expect that it would cause a misunderstanding for you, and I am sorry for that.”
His words hit Miranda like a thunderbolt, and she murmured to herself, “Fellowship among peers… I never expected that.”
She laughed as she said, “So, do I still need to thank you for your help?”
She didn’t expect that Trevor would say such things.
Now that Jocelynn has already left, he can’t even take responsibility. Faced with the emotional entanglement between the three of them.
he finds excuses to avoid it.
She looked at Trevor’s face and suddenly remembered Jocelynn’s advice back then
Trevor chose her and would abandon her, and, indeed, he never chose ber.
“Let me ask you one last time, did you never love me even a little bit ?”
